Welcome aboard Carolyn, and thank you for your wonderful displays in 407. Spitfire Ace was a brillant series, and a great chance to see some stunning footage of the Grace Spitfire and yourself. It certainly was emotional seeing Mr Brothers take to the controls of ML407 and I am sure he has that memory to treasure now forever.

Look forward to seeing you display her this year. How is the work progressing?

By jove and damn you mr Black Knight, thats awfully unfair of yourself to be strapped into such a special mustang when one is awfully busting to fill that jump seat oneself!

    😡 😡 😉 😉 😀 😀 😀

p.s – bring back Moose! Join the campaign now, PM me for further details.

That’s bloody awful. Such a beautiful aircraft reduced in such an undignified way. Shame on you MoD. 😡

what does it for me is….

…the sound and speed of the damn thing!

It roars past in a similar fashion to a bearcat, but the sound of it when it passes is like a deep ‘chug’, almost harley davidson like! It really is something special. Must be that 14 cylinder Ash-82 radial.

Well it floats my boat anyway!:D

You will love it over in NZ, you lucky beggers. I only saw it once properly, and i won’t forget that sound anytime soon.:p

I also recall Robs Lamplough’s P-51D ‘Miss Helen’ sporting a Breitling badge for Flying Legends 2002.

Perhaps, OFMC would use them as spare aircraft if Frankie went u/s, which ofcourse it did. But they borrowed Twilight Tear didn’t they…. hmmm.

Actually if i remember correctly, i asked a member of the OFMC ground crew about Miss Helen, and he said she was an ‘honoury member’ of the breitling team.

    Here she is…

By the same contrast is a P-40 powered by a Russian VK-105 engine not a P-40 anymore?

Is a Tempest with a Griffon engine not a Tempest anymore?

That is a good point Phantom.
Afterall the Buchon is essentially a 109 in design and build, with a merlin instead. 🙂 i like ’em anyway:D

That was Dan Akroyds (Spelling?) head gear that he used in the filming of the ‘Coneheads’ wasn’t it? 😀 😀

From last years Woodchurch Wings’nThings hosted by Rob Davies. This photo was taken after the display had fionished and most of the spectators had gone home.
This is of the Bell 47 (G-MASH?) viewed from infront of BigB. It was a superb day.
