Heard on the national news (beeb) that they are running a little behind schedule at Cott, didn’t give a figure though.
I have a funny feeling that once these all land today, they will not take off again. Road moves to museums will be on the cards.
And as for what’s left, there is interest in them from other parties, but watch this space for a DSA lead exercise in how not to do buisness!
Just a feeling of course…….
There are loads of superb photos over on this forum
Thanks you for bringing things like this out of the darkness of forgotten history and into the light mate. As has been said already, something good on the beeb that’s not a repeat to look forward to this christmas!
Found this on bbc news website Looks very interesting!
16 Ship departs Cott for a flypast of a few stations @1400 tomorrow according to my sources.
Glad you got in touch mate, when do they plan to open their doors again, after Easter?
I believe there is a 16 ship being put up from Cott this week, doing a fly past of a few RAF Stations.
That would be some video that I’d sure love to see too!!
Windscreens from the F3’s that are being cut up at Leeming are all bound for the GR fleet as they are the same part, think that lids are too, sorry to put a downer on your thread!
Thanks for the heads up moggy, if more Sqn’s are added this could make for a very useful resource for research. However, as you said though, I doubt the site will remain free for long.
XS929 is on the gate at Aki in shifty-fix colours, although I don’t think she ever served with them.
Tim. You could try asking the Sqn’s that are still flying them mate, they will have pics in their respective archives.
I’m going to visit 5131 this week, so i try and grab a pic of the toom that lives there.
Good to see mate, I wish you all the best! You might want to try the Museum at Flixton.
Any chance of a picture?
