On the subject of Delta, I think they have added Boston to the list of destinations served from LGW, however, it is a connection service, as it forms part of the service to New York JFK (LGW-BOS-JFK).
Still doesnt make up for a poor livery design though…:D
Not usual to have to quote yourself…but I enquired at the Delta ticket desk to see if they had added BOS as a destination from Gatwick, and the kind lady said it was just a one-off…
And just to firm up my dislike for the new Delta livery…have a look at DL Connection’s ERJ45’s…it is just so bland! http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=1207505&WxsIERv=Rzoenre%20RZO-145YE%20%28REW-145YE%29&Wm=0&WdsYXMg=Qrygn%20Pbaarpgvba%20%28Serrqbz%20Nveyvarf%29&QtODMg=Anfuivyyr%20-%20Vagreangvbany%20%28Zrgebcbyvgna%29%20%28OAN%20%2F%20XOAN%29&ERDLTkt=HFN%20-%20Graarffrr&ktODMp=Znl%209%2C%202007&BP=0&WNEb25u=Wbua%20cnqtrgg&xsIERvdWdsY=A856ZW&MgTUQtODMgKE=Arj%20cnvag%20fpurzr%20sbe%20Qrygn%2C%20nccyvrq%20gb%20Qrygn%20Pbaarpgvba.&YXMgTUQtODMgKERD=18709&NEb25uZWxs=2007-05-09%2016%3A53%3A53&ODJ9dvCE=LET&O89Dcjdg=145626&static=yes&width=1024&height=695&sok=JURER%20%20%28cubgb_vq%20%3D%20%271207505%27%29%20%20BEQRE%20OL%20cubgb_vq%20QRFP&photo_nr=1&prev_id=&next_id=NEXTID
Nice to see it doing the rounds, but would of been nicer to see it in the Kingfisher livery or at least some sort of Kingfisher markings.
Just think how much Cobra beer you could carry in one of those.:D 😀 😀
Paul
You forget that Kingfisher is also a brand of larger in India…so I very much doubt that they would stock a rival brand onboard.;)
If you mean you are after software that is compatible with both versions of the simulator, I’m not sure there are any.
No, sorry I did not mean that, although I do how it came across…I was asking about add-ons for each?
Excellent video there…very good detail, Simon Calder is a great reporter.
The only thing I would say though is that I am rather disappointed that there were no check-in agents on show as I work for Swissport who handles FCA at Gatwick…would of like to have my five seconds of fame!:D
If anyone has any questions about FCA’s Star Class Premier product, please feel free to ask as I know quite a bit …

It is now…:)
I am not sure I like the new livery to be honest, I actually prefered the blue, white and red wavy flag design (i.e the last one before new one!).
I’m preety sure you’ll be getting an A300 both ways, but maybe a LGW local could confirm that for you :D.
Could well be an A300, but if not that then it will more than likely be a 757-200.
I saw this mentioned in a newspaper that I was reading on the train home yesterday, and thought it was a bit of joke…it wasnt until I read the article in full that I actually realised that this is very real indeed and, as you can see from the picture, Monarch are going to be operating the flights…no offence, but how chavy can you get?:D
I think things will be brighter for Airbus when they actually deliver the first few a/c and they are finally put into service.
Just some other questions though…
Does anyone know when and where the first commerical flight of the A380 will be? Am I right to assume that because Singapore Airlines are the launch customer, it will probably be first used on a Singapore to London (one would hope?)!
With all the announcements from airlines saying that they have cancelled their orders for the A380, can anyone provide a revised and accurate list of the number of A380s that are still on order, and which airlines are still due to take delivery of them?
Cool. I think that is a marvelous livery design. Love it.:D
The first question I would ask is if he has actually got the necessary licences to start these operations?
The reason I would ask this is because Flywho did not ‘take-off’ in the end because it emerged that they did not have the licences to sell seats!
Mr Murctt certainly has got a tough job ahead of him, as the following article shows: http://www.thecourier.co.uk/output/2007/04/28/newsstory9629374t0.asp
Nope most of them leased. its cheaper.
Not only that, but it is easier for an airline to give an aircraft back to a leasing company, rather than being lumbered with having to sell it directly themselves.
It would be great to have more seaplanes operating in this country. Afterall, there’s plenty of places to land.
Well, there would be if local authorities viewed it as a benefit.
Well they seem to already viewed it as a benefit in Scotland becuase there is already a seaplane operator using Loch Lomond, hence the appropriatley named http://www.lochlomondseaplanes.com/

Heathrow is our countries biggest airport, of course the security and policing will be different than that of gatwick.
It is a bit silly though for BAA at Heathrow to say “viewing areas closed due to security…point blank!”, and for BAA at Gatwick to acknowledge that there is a need for a viewing area and for enthusiasts to help towards stopping any possible security threats.
One hopes the request for position ideas for a viewing area is not a gimmick to get people to sign up to card idea…
Care to elaborate why you think this?
I think it is good that BAA at Gatwick are taking this approach because then at least we [enthusiasts] get to agree on a decent location for viewing/photography rather than being restricted to locations that BAA decide by themselves.
Does anyone know if this new order will have any impact on Virgin’s order for the A380 at all?
Is is possible that they might be cancelling their order for the A380 and replacing them with 787’s instead?
