Thanks kev35, you could of just posted the diagram, as that has helped to explain it.
The thing I was getting confused with was the direction of the wind speed and runway…got them the wrong way round 😮 , but thanks anyway for all your help.
At least I can continue to read the chapter… 😀
That Alitalia one is absolutely hideuous (sp). Bloody hell…
Well we are all entitled to our own opinions… 😀
However, compared to the current livery, I personally think it is is much better!
Here you go… QANTAS selection was quite disappointing I am afriad to say, but this one was the one I thought was the best!
I asked someone on that site to design a livery for my own airline
WOW. They are really good. Did you have to pay someone to do those?
Tha Alitalia livery is nice and bright but the American is too much like Lan Chile
The Alitalia one is my favourite. I didn’t think to check the AA one, but can see where you are coming from there…
Wasnt he the originally loco pioneer or something?
Yes! He was an inspiration for those that have since set airlines up.
I have just been reading some of the comments/tributes on the BBC’s website, and I have found one which I think sums this sad day up very nicely:
Sir Freddie Laker started the whole cheap scheduled flight market. Before Laker the only cheap fares available were on charter flights, with all sorts of restrictions. Skytrain was years ahead of its time. Even though the flag carrier airlines got their revenge, cheap fares stayed. He opened the doors for successors like Virgin Atlantic. He will be sadly missed.

Here is my idea…
My airline would be called VISION AIRWAYS
It would be a low-cost airline based on the principles of JetBlue Airways, operating A320’s out of LGW to popular destinations within Europe. And if there was enough space in the regional market, it would operate the E190!
When I am bored, I spend my time designing liveries. This is my attempt for VISION. What do you think?
Thanks for all your help, have finished the project for now, will feedback on my results if you want?
hey, cloud nine
To be honest with u i think that if you dnt know much about the business or business area, you shouldnt be kean to buy it when you wont know how to run it in the first place, i am just typing wat i am think and this could maby make you end up bankrupt…..
Also, i think this would belong in the GD forums, as this has hardly anything to do with aviation… maby the mods can help me on this one!
I no i and other forum members are getting annoyed with business questions on a commercial avaiation forum……
Many thanks
Robert
I appreciate you are entitled to your own opinions, but the reason I have put it in here is because it is aviation related. GD is for ‘non-aviation’ topics.
I no i and other forum members are getting annoyed with business questions on a commercial avaiation forum……
Is commerical aviation not a business? There are plenty of other forum members that post business questions on the CA forum because there is not a dedicated business thread…however, I will take your advice and continue this on the youngentrepreneur.com forum, as it is clearly upsetting a few!
Bye!
Good luck. 🙂
I never knew such a business existed only 10 minutes from where I live
Is it a nice area?
Why are they selling? I know that engineering regulations are changing soon, to become tougher. Best you check it out.
I don’t have any other information other than the advert at the moment. Have sent the owner an e-mail to find out more information.
You could always ask on a Business Forum which may advise you better than aviation enthusiasts…
Thanks for the advice, I already have.
Love the Evergreen shot, the size difference between the 747 compared to the small prop waiting made me laugh!
I am missing something here, or does an ATOL licence not cover passengers if the company goes bust?
The would be because they are ignoring the child as if they speak to “it” (probably because it wants something) then the child will always scream to get its own way.
lol.
but parents should have more control over their kids when on flights…
On one flight I was on, they allowed the child to play with their toy cars in the aisle, and bearing in mind this was a single aisled aircraft, it caused havoc whilst trying to fight the queue for the loo, having a car rammed into your foot… I was hoping that the cabin crew could of run over the toy with the trolley!
Perhaps they could introduce a child only section of the aircraft, preferably somewhere in the baggage hold…hehe 😀 :diablo: :p
I don’t know if anybody saw this in Thursday’s Guardian newspaper
Oxford to Cambridge flights resume
Despite the minor delays, I am glad to see it actually went when it said it would… :p
Wonder whether they will consider doing any other routes from Cambridge or Oxford, as I do think they have a niche route.
50 people per day, isn’t that a bit ambitious?
What aircraft do they use?
The awful SEAT PITCH,so my knees are in the back of the seat in front ALL throughout the flight! I can tolerate most of the other irritants mentioned, but to have discomfort throughout the entire flight is unacceptable. I have found Britannia Airways/Thomson are the worst! 😡
My grandparents flew to Gran Canaria with Thomsonfly over Christmas and New Year period, and said it was bloody awful seats and service as well…and that they would rather pay the extra and go with BA next time!
I personally think they (Thomsonfly) have shot themselves in the foot since changing their name from Britannia…and their new livery – yuk, bring back the old navy blue one (see below)!
Monarch are by far the worst I have ever flown with and will never fly with them again!
I think all low-cost and charter operators are just as bad as each other…they need to start thinking about passengers essential needs – comfortable seats being one!
They should look at Titan Airways (http://www.titan-airways.com). Although they charter/lease their aircraft out to other operators, their seat pitches on both the 737 and 757 would offer such better quality.

Revenge is sweet – I kept tapping his wheelie bag with my foot during the ‘long walk’ leaving T2. It kept tipping over and getting dragged for a few feet. Once it got caught on a barrier post by the escalators and nearly pulled his arm out of its socket. He did not seem very happy and called me a couple of names!!
I think I might try that when someone annoys me next time…lol. 😀 :diablo:
Hope this gives you a few ideas to think about. I can write more if you like.
Fancy doing my research for me…? 😀 (only joking!)
I would be very interested to hear what else you have to say, so please PM me with the rest of your thoughts.
My opinion is that because the success of low-cost carriers has been echoed in other regions of the world, there should be no reason why areas within Asia cannot develop a successful low-cost market. However, they can only be a success if they ensure that they can maintain the lowest possible operating costs, compared to the already price competitive, full service carriers.
Anyone else got an opinion?
Has anyone flown with a LCC in Asia? If so, what is it like, and are there any differences compared to other low-cost markets?
