For a first time post, those shots are AMAZING – keep the good work up!
And welcome to the forum…
LOL March is hardly urgent. When I saw urgent I was expecting you to day you had to go in the moring.
Well it is fairly urgent, seeings as I am booking for myself and potentially 19 others…
I have flown Virgin once (LHR-SFO & LAX-LHR), and thought that they were excellent. And just comparing them to a recent flight to MCO on British Airways, they are miles in front in terms of customer service…
What aircraft will you be flying on…A346 or 744?
lol. some funny ones there. The KLM cockpit as engines and engine as cockpit is my favourite. 😀
This kinda of petty crime annoys me the most…
My brother was mugged a couple of years back, whilst on his way back to a mates house. He had just come from his school’s certificate evening, where he had been awarded a certificate for good work…
He was punched in the face, resulting in a broken nose. Had his glasses, wallet and mobile phone stolen. What kind of cruel b*****ds steal someone’s glasses for god sake.
We did get the police involved, but their response was “it would be like looking for a needle in a haystack!”, so eventually we decided to drop the case, but my everyone in my family was deeply affected and I myself and now very careful when I am out and about. I dont carry any money with me if I can help it, and only my phone for emergencies.
I think they should bring back proper punishments for thieves…cut their hands off!

Looks like I got there just before you, or we posted at the same time…lol.
Perhaps someone could merge these for us, as I don’t know how, its pointless having two threads of the same topic.
JetBlue has posted a full year net loss of $20m for 2005. I THINK this is the first time the carrier has made a loss, as I believe it actually turned a profit even in the first year. It makes you wonder if they haven’t been the victims of expanding too fast…especially given that they now have 2 aircraft types in the fleet. I wonder if the rapid expansion has prevented them from keeping control of costs as well as capacity available. I’m not expecting them to go out of business, but I it’ll be interesting to see if they turn it round nex year. Perhaps those new start ups around the world that have ordered massive fleets should watch and learn!!!
What you say could be true to a certain extent, especially about the two types of aircraft, however, all low-cost airlines need to expand their route networks rapidly in order to gain a better share of the market.
You might also want to consider that airlines in the US have been suffering from high fuel costs since Hurricanes Katrina and Rita slammed into US oil refineries in the Gulf of Mexico region.
The only exception to this would be Southwest, who says that by hedging the cost of fuel has helped to boost its quarterly profit from $119m to $227m. During the the fourth quarter of 2005, its fuel supplies were hedged at 85%, and so paid an average of $26 a barrel.
Nobody under the age of sixteen should be allowed on a passenger flight at all IMHO. 😡
Moggy
Care to explain why?
Ahh the status of row 1.
Ahh yes, a classic one there…!
And another classic…the annyoing child in the seat behind that has a fascination of kicking the back of your seat.
On one flight, I had this unfortunate event happen to me, so I turned around and said: “Stop kicking the back of my seat, or I’ll break your legs!” in a harsh and firm tone…and suprise, suprise, the kicking stopped. 😀 (Oh how I would loved for him to continue… :diablo: )
Another thing is when a passengers asked to speak to the duty manager or someone else in a more senior position than a lonesome check-in agent, only to be told exactly what I have told them…usually its about paying excess baggage, or the fact that they have to check their hand luggage in cos its too heavy!
On the sympathetic side, does anyone else think that infants should be given a weight limit at all? It does seem a trifle unfair that it has been to combined within the parents luggage allowence. I think that they should be able to take on one extra piece of hand luggage only with essentials in it (change of nappy, bottle of milk and food, etc.)
I can see what people say about the fence, it is further away than first thought, but there is not much runway left…
As Whiskey Delta suggests, I too am suprised that they would of used the entire length of the runway in order to take off.
Nice shots Lance.
What is it with the swans, I didn’t realise this was a nature forum as well… :p
C9 – I suggest you take a look at the rather nice guide that Paul Osborne (UKAR owner) has put together.
The main spots are Myrtle Avenue for 27L arrivals and the spot under the 09L approach for when the wind’s blowing t’other way.
HTH.
Thanks Phil, much appreciated, will give these locations a go and will see what the results are like…
yeah but im going with monarch to ALC then with BA to ALC
Slight confused about the above, are you going to Alicante twice?
I use to work for the ground handling company that deals with Monarch, so you will be going from South (Zone K, if my memory serves me correct?), whereas flying with BA you will go from North (Zone F most likely)
When spotting/photographing at LGW, I always find that going to the end of the platform of the rail station is a good spot, as a/c pass over all the time…landings are better as they are obviously lower than on take off, and there is slightly more chance of getting a decent photo!
Word of warning, make sure you have a vaild rail ticket (even if it is just vaild for one stop!) or you will find that the staff will slap a travel penalty on you…
Hope this helps…
In a word…STUNNING! Absollutley love the CO 757 with winglets, excellent shots! Keep it up.
