Cloud 9. you are not by any chance using the 64 bit version of Explorer 9 are you?
Hi Whiskey Magna, to be honest I cannot tell whether I am using the 32 or 64-bit version, can you advise me on what this means (I did warn you I was a technophobe!:o), and how I can go about finding out what it is that I am using?
Surely I would just be better off running/using the 32-bit version all the time then, or at least until they’ve issued the fix for the 64-bit version, as most websites I look at have some element of Flash in/on them, but I suppose the real question here is…why do they [Microsoft] release IE8/9 when it has issues that still need to be resolved or requires you to run two different versions of the same program, just makes no sense whatsoever?!
Incidentally, there is Flash on the forum. Used for the banner ad rotation. 🙂
Thanks ThreeSpool, this would explain the problem then, because after I have clicked on the “Yes” or “No” options, some of the banner ads do not show up when viewing the pages!

That has to be one of the best reports I have read/seen…very well put together, and with some excellent photos to boot. Well done!:)
Great pics there kev, thanks for sharing.:)
VS’s latest livery is slowly growing on me, but I can’t help but think/feel that the “virgin atlantic” text on the fuselage really should be put just a smidgen lower, anyone else agree?
Ok, thanks all for your replies…
I am going to answer your points individually, so scroll down this post to see which applies most to you:
PD:
Yes, its a recent thing, I’ve only had my laptop for just over a week. The guy I bought it from is a friend of mine who manages a small computer retail shop on the High St of the town I live in, and so I told him which model I wanted and he ordered it in and set it all up for me. It had IE7 on it initially, but in order to put IE9 on, I had to take that off.
I’d love to show you a “Print Screen” image, I tried to get one before I even posted this thread, but for some unknown reason it won’t paste it as an image into Paint, or any other software for that matter, so I can’t show it to you!
As for your “wasted space on each side of the forum” issue, I might be able to help you as that sounds like a similar issue that I encountered before the Flash Player issue (I seem to attract problems…!:D).
I would suggest that you check the viewing settings on your browser. As I’ve said before, I use IE9, so it maybe different for different browsers, but if you go to the Main Bar (the one with File, Edit, etc.), click on the “View” one and then scroll down to where is says “Zoom”, and check what % you are viewing the page at…if its anything less than 100%, then that might explain why you have so much wasted space either side, because your viewing the page in a smaller size than normal.

No, I have not made any enquiries just yet, but will do on Monday when my friend opens his shop up. Just thought I’d put a post up on here to see if anyone could offer any sort of assistance in the meantime.;)
Grey:
I am using Norton’s AntiVirus, the laptop came with a 12mth subscription to it for free, and my friend installed it and set it all up for me.
Indeed, I am running Windows 7.
If it is the Windows System Protection, how do I go about changing it?

Hi Linc/PD,
Thanks for your replies, however, I must be honest and admit to being a complete technophobe when it comes to things like Firewalls and security settings…I just plug it in and away I go!
Let me run you through what happens…
I visit the KP forum homepage and then I click on one of the thread icons, say “General Discussion” for example. It goes to re-direct me to the General Discussion thread, however, during this process my screen goes dark for a second or two and a white box then comes up asking me:
“Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to your computer?”
It details what the program is (Adobe Flash Player), and gives me a “Yes” or “No” option.
Oddly enough, it doesnt matter which of these I choose…the page then just displays itself, however, it sometimes asks me the same question three or four times over before I can actually get round to viewing the page uninterrupted. Now bear in mind the fact that this appears to happen whenever I want view a page, and not just on one page…all pages; even when I return back to the homepage…hence why I said in my OP that it is really annoying me.

Nice pic there Keith, thanks for sharing.:)
Personally, I can’t stand Marmite myself, however, this thing just looks beautifully weird in its own unique way, so much so that I happen to like it!
One question though, can anyone explain the reason for the props being on “back to front” so to speak, does this help to boost performance or reduce noise perhaps?
Answers on a postcard to…:D:p
Just out of interest, what is flightradar 24?
Certainly looks interesting from the screenshots you posted.
Finnair and JAL have also done the same sort of things and it looks horrible.
Would you agree though that the MH one does look better than the Finnair and JAL ones?
The French always seem to do things differently, and by the sounds of it you’re “guilty until proven innocent”.
Seems a rather harsh but ultimately fair way to do things mind you.
Hi all,
I know this is a thread from a while back, but seeing as the new MH livery was not quite so well recieved by some forum members, I thought I would post up a link to this picture from A.net showing one of their new Airbus A330-300’s, just to see if anyone has a change of opinion from their original thoughts.

I did say in my post above during the initial chatter on this thread that my opinion would no doubt change as I too was not so keen on it to start off with, and I have to say I think it does actually look a lot better on something like this, anyone else have a change of opinion and care to agree with me at all?
NetJets is a fractional ownership program, which basically means that people buy a “share” of a jet for a price. This in turn gives them a specific no. of “flight hours” per year, and then they get to make use of the fleet of aircraft available.
That’s what I thought Kevin.
If I were rich/famous enough to afford to fly on a private jet, I know I wouldn’t want my arrival to be displayed on the main arrivals board.
