Nice pics there Keith, thanks for sharing.:)
The Greek’s are really trying to sell themselves with that advert on the Aegean aircraft!:D
And just in case you or anyone else wanted to know, Korongo Airlines is a a new airline to be based in the DR Congo, which is a former Belgian colony, hence why some of Brussels Airlines fleet is involved!
Wikipedia also shows their fleet listing as x1 Boeing 737-300 (as seen above!) and x2 BAe 146-200’s, so its possible you might see those in the next few weeks.
Have to say though, their livery is very nice indeed.
Tommy, I actually agree with you on that one, Britannia did have one of the best liveries going, such a shame its not around anymore!
Great pic there Bmused, thanks for sharing.:)
Best airline/airport…Porter Airlines, Canadian regional airline based at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, which is also a great airport to fly to/from, and I would urge anyone who wishes to visit Toronto to try to use this airport rather than Pearson International, you can be in the city centre within 15mins!
Worst airline…British Airways; SEA-LHR…I did not think World Traveller Plus was worth the money paid for the upgrade and the crew were really rude, and MCO-LGW…managed to get an exit row seat so I could stretch out a bit, however, cabin crew managed to run-over my foot with the trolley (…whilst I was trying to sleep!).
Worst airport…close call between LHR and LAX really, both are a bit of a nightmare.
Their website is still live, so I assume they are still around.
Great pics. Thanks for sharing.:)
Nice to see Eastern’s ERJ in full colour scheme…looks very nice!
I don’t/haven’t kept a log of all the flights that I have been on, so this is from memory, but here goes…:
Air 2000 – 757-200
Air Canada – 767 (I think, when I went LHR-YYC) & 777
BMI – A320
Britannia Airways – 757
British Airways – 747-400 & 777
Continental Airlines – 737(-800, I think?), 757-200 & 777-200ER
First Choice – 757-200
Hawaiian Airlines – 767
JMC Airlines – 757
Monarch Airlines – 757
Porter Airlines – Dash 8 Q400 (my best flight I’ve ever had…!:D)
Virgin Atlantic – A340-600 & 747-400
Forgive my ignorance as I do not know much about the past, but why would Thomas Cook own the brand of something which became British Airways…surely it would be BA that owns it, no?:o
I suppose the main reason as to why it is being dropped is because the number of passengers that have chosen to travel on this particular route have not been sufficient after the tragic accident.
In reply, Manx2 said it had chartered the aircraft involved from a fully insured carrier – the Spanish-based firm, Flightline BCN
The online business is known as a virtual airline, with the company insists it operates as a booking office or ticket provider.
It sells seats on a plane, but the craft is owned and operated separately.
I think this is really bad…and shows a complete lack of respect towards those that lost their lives and were seriously injured.
Whilst they may well be a “virtual” airline/ticket provider, at the end of the day the flight was marketed as a “Manx2” flight, and therefore the responsibility of it should come down to them, and then it would be down to the Manx2 management to seek damages from Flightline BCN if it is found to be at fault in anyway.
Nice pics there Richard…I didn’t realise Titan still had one of their BAe 146’s in their old livery!
Thanks for sharing.:)
Head Kandi is the name of the music label that produces a lot of club/dance music that is played in Ibiza, hence why they operated the flights to IBZ.
Nice pic there GA.:)
Yes Tartan, the Lineage 1000 is the executive varient of the E190.
Fantastic photos there dgimage, and what a lovely colour. Thanks for sharing!:)
I’ve watched this video a number of times now, and seeing it does pose an interesting question…on the day of a shuttle launch, are commerical operations affected greatly?
Obviously the distance from where this particular aircraft was in relation to the space shuttle launch was fairly significant, but what actually happens when a launch is scheduled, I assume there is an exclusion/no-fly zone put in place that stops any/all aircraft from flying within a certain radius of the launch site, and does NASA have to compensate commerical carriers for any disruption/inconvience that this may cause?
Ewww…no; that is by far the most awfully bland, boring, cheap, dull and frankly rubbish livery design I have ever seen! BIG thumbs down.:D
Wouldn’t it be great to actually be inside it!
The plane, the shuttle or both…choices, choices. I know which I’d prefer!;)
Stunning video; just happened to be in the right place and at the right time!
Something I have always wanted to do is to see a space shuttle launch for real, bet the noise is terrific!?
And its amazing to think that at just 2mins after launch, the shuttle would have been travelling at near supersonic speed!
