Quoteing Thunder & Lightnings website….
” She’s currently being used as a travelling exhibit by Vulcan To The Sky to drum up support for the XH558 Return to Flight project. Information current as of 21/05/2005. “
😉
There was a dismantled but complete T19/21 in a hangar at Little Staughton in the late seventies/early eighties.Have no idea who owned it,what it was doing there or where it went. Was still in RAF colors, but it was fairly dark in there and I never took a pic of it..or made a note of the serial.
Anyone know anything about it or if it survived ?
Yes, it was TX226 currently with Air Atlantique for spares usage.
.
I think the Bristol Brigand is at the Bristol Collection, same airfield as the Science Museum storage collection (forget the name, will come back to me any second). Think it was rescued from a scrapyard, would be nice to have it restored though
Yes, its at Kemble, but the Science Museum are at Wroughton, t’other side of the M4

COPYRIGHT ISSUE’S
No more public discussion of Airline please.
As the copyright do-gooders have stepped in and my PM box was full this am (you know who you are big brother/s) 😡
I missed Eastenders last night, but dare i watch what i taped today ???
Its a copyright thing apparently.
Nuff said……….. 🙁
.
Seem to get fed up !!!! asking this 10 months prior to the display really takes the biscuit.
Indeed, peeps making Legends posts more than 3 months prior should be shot at dawn ! :diablo: :diablo:
Regarding post #19, if (preferable every episode of) “Airline” found its way on to DVD, I would be very happy to securely store a copy over here in Sweden, where it would be safe against terrorist attacks, mildew, etc.!
Of course I would have to play it through first to make sure it was properly recorded!
Regarding post #14, i’ve asked ‘Dambuster’ via here and with a PM if he would kindly lend his copies to be put onto a 2-disc set complete with the usual packaging, scene/episode selection etc, etc…. but to date no reply.
If anybody else has the full run of ‘Airline’, could they lend them please ?
Then (as with ‘Mitchells do fly in IMC’) anybody who’s interested can have there own copy.
….anybody
.
I recorded every episode of ‘Airline’ using my old ‘piano key’ VCR, and still have it here, in fact I watched the series again a couple of months ago, which prompted me to go onto e-bay and do a search as a result of which I obtained a 45rpm single of the theme tune by Tony Hatch for the princely sum of £2!
Is it possible to transfer VHS onto DVD? (excuse my ‘Mr Thicky’ mode) I would like to have my Airline series on DVD to preserve the tapes, and I also have a couple of other Dam Buster related VHS tapes I would like to transfer to DVD, any help/pointers/advice gratefully received….
Regards to all,
Keith
Oh Keith… what a star. 😀
My brother-in-law can do tape onto disc. Perhaps you would en-trust an episode for copying ?
He can probably even put the whole series onto a disc or pair of disc’s, complete with scene index, box art etc, etc….
Interested ? 😉
.
Isnt it already painted as an RAAF Far east example?
Yes, it is painted in RAAF colours (foliage green) as it was when in service as A19-144.
The restoration is authentic, as it is ~not~ a DAP built Mk.21 and hence it wouldn’t have the Sperry bulge
.
…. I wonder if anyone recorded the ‘Airline’ series? It would be wonderful to see that again.
…..here, here, well said that man.
I’ve been looking for ‘Airline’ for years.
The only success i’ve had is Episode 1 somebody put onto disc, and then put on eBay. But you try typing the word ‘Airline’ into eBays search engine 😮
Surely ~somebody~ on here must have it or know someone who has
.
Snag is…. ownership.
Not everyone is so agreeable, one case in point being the IWM Halifax nose, which they flatly refused point blank to let Elvington have. 😡
Although RAFM did let the Canadians have a spare Hampden nose that did of course get used. 😀
.
Sorry to hear your plight Rob, for those not aware of Robs circumstances his webpage highlights the problem http://www.ramms.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ . I’m no legal buff Rob but my first port of call today would be my nearest Citizens Advice Bureau, these people are brilliant and will understand your plight like no others.
Thats awful, what a bunch of to**ers 😡
.
Move to Nth Devon, and you can help the Hunter, Harrier, Tornado, Bucc and JayPee that are up here :diablo:
.
It looks pretty complete (externally). I wonder how much it was? Seem to remember everett aero recently had some f/a 2’s though I may be wrong.
J man
Indeed they have, its like a Harrier theme park there.
I should ‘guesstimate’ he paid £6K+ 😮
.
According to the ~other~ magazine, they were hit pretty hard by the hurricane in terms of the manpower.
