…aargh isn’t she lovely ?
Best of luck with the restoration 😉
.
Agreed… its that ‘Flight Aid’ chopper again !!
.
Last I heard the uncompleted Skysport project was up for sale, the East Fortune project had been suspended because of the arrival of Concorde at the Museum and the Fighter Collection Beaufighter was still years away from completion. Does anyone have any more details on these projects?
Colin
Yep, i think thats pretty much the current state of play.
.
They’ll still have the FRADU Hawks Dave, though it would be much better if they were Hunters!
.
Nah… thats just another RAF jet in RN markings 😀 😀
Whats the story on the lack of Swordfish ? Maybe year after next.. T or F ?
Is that an engineering problem or budgetary constraints ?
.
Um, which airshow doesn’t have these complaints?
Flood
But more so than normal on this occasion perhaps ?
.
Did the Strikemaster or JP display?
Nine Sea Harriers bowing farewell. Oh, well may be another time?
I did hear that a JayPee was gonna replace a Hercules in the program, and i didn’t see a Herk, but i ~think~ i spied a JayPee 5. Maybe somebody else on the display line can confirm ?
Yes, nine SHAR’s would have been good, but alas that really is the last of the last. 🙁
I’m crap at airborne shots, but heres a static selection.
Anybody else take a camera ? 😀
Well considering that the Audrey Heulin Agency (is that how they spell it ?) has put next years event in doubt as they weren’t making enough profit, i think the 50% attendance increase (according to Sean Moffett) may make them re-consider.
Still a cracking day out, but lacking a bit on foreign participation.
Heck not even a Dutch F-16 and thats a first !!
Not enough toilets, over priced food & water etc, etc…. and that ‘final’ Harrier display left me thinking “is that it ?” :dev2:
Still at least next years event, the Navy will have one fixed wing jet left to display… the Seahawk 😮
.
“bump” Any new panels?
Harrier GR.3:
Updated photo’s of various items put together for a photo shoot…
Yes, I,am here 🙂
But of course… where else ? 😉
I ~think~ they only have 4 left airworthy (excluding T.8’s) although one is noisy enough :diablo:
.
XV279 gained the nickname prior to its restoration on the base, mainly due to large amounts of fibreglass to make it resemble a Harrier.
I think Dave Burke was there also at that time, i’m sure he’ll explain…
.
According to W&R 19, they have the nose, the ‘plastic pig’ XV279, GR.3 XV779 and T.4 XZ146.
.
IWith regards to the cockpit ID – try contacting the organisors – Steve Pepper – on 07711 430 472 who may be able to tell you who they booked it with.
Good Luck.
Sorted, cheers….
…apparently its still MOD owned and was brought to the show by RAF Wittering personel (where it resides) which ~should~ make it XW923.
.
Also on display near the stalls was a Harrier Gr.3 cockpit, ID unknown as of yet.
Thanks to Rob for this picture… any idea of an ID anyone ?
I think i’ll give RIAT a miss next year meself.
