    Hello All,
well its not UK based, but my Dad has a basketcase Mk Nineteen project here in the US, in the Fort Worth Area, it is one of the planes from the last flyover London when the type was retired. i cannot remember the serial number at this point. i doubt that it will ever be put together again, and the wings and centersection were sitting outside for many years. The fuselage is completely orignal, cockpit also as far as i remember.
drop me a line if interested and i can pass on the contact info.

    Hello Cliff,
Great pictures of the Buchon, and thank you for your descriptions. Would you mind posting some information on what the Buchon is like to fly? The Pilatus P2 that we have finished putting together has many components from the ‘109 family. It too has the pitch trim and flap wheels on the left side of the cockpit, you have to hand crank the flaps down and after half travel the ailerons also droop. The landing gear selector and Oleo’s are also 109, the left gear on the 109 is the right gear on the P2. I have flown 3 test flights so far and notice a distinct longitudinal “pivot” when raising the tail on take off that i think is due to the camber change on the wheels as the angle of attack lowers. The Aeroplane is very nice to fly , those that have more time on them than i have commented that it has similar characteristics to the ‘109 family, hopefully you would be willing to offer your experience.
    Thanks
–not trying to steer the thread off direction, hope you are all ok with that—-

    Pilatus P2

If anyone can point me in the direction of who might have won the Pilatus P2 on ebay that would be great, have just finished putting one back together here in the States, first flight was a couple of months ago, and its always good to keep track of where the spare parts might be 🙂

    Airline

Glad to hear Airline is available. i have had it on DVD for many years. My dad Worked for Aces High back in the day and was heavily involved in the making of this miniseries. i remember writing to Yorkshire TV back in the late ’90s and got a complete VHS copy which i then had on DVD when they became available. Last year at Oshkosh, i presented a small forum on my experiences flying the DC-3 in Texas, Mexico and Honduras and had the opening scene of Airline with the formation break ( my dad flying one of them) showing at the start. i still think that is the best DC-3 flying ever put on the big screen! also on of the ex Aces Daks from the series is here in the US,i was talking to them at Rock Falls DC-3 flyin, great to see her still going. The last time i was in that plane i was ahh…um 12! wow, ok then thats probably enough, feeling old and tired, need a lie down.

    Mossie

Can anyone elaborate on the Neil Williams story with a Mosquito?
My dad ferried Doug A’s Mossie back from the US to Blackbushe in ’76. i remember standing beside the runway when they arrived. The hair on the back of my neck still stands up thinking of it!

    Pilatus P2

    Hello Everyone,
I am in process of reassembling N5241M ( Ex G-BONE) here in central texas. there is more information on it on WIX. It has not flown since it left GB about 8 years ago. we have run the engine and performed the first taxi test. Tomorow is fixing one more hydraulic leak, then next week weight and balance, finish items and we are ready to go for the CofA.
The undercarriage is from a Me-109, as are various cockpit items. Ground running the Argus is lots of fun, i hope to report of flight characteristics soon!
    Cheers
    Simon
