Poor weather this morning restricted Safety Day visitors to around 20 aircraft, with nothing much of note.
So, until anything new happens, here’s Hangar 3 again:

TFC’s Corsair has moved into a photogenic spot in Hangar 2. I don’t think I’ve seen the gun bays fully open before:

I was asked for an update on the new ‘Lancaster Hangar’ recently. No doors yet, but work on the apron and site landscaping continue:
Duxford Monday 4th April:
Miss Pick Up’s No.2 engine was already aboard at opening time this morning. The prop was added shortly after:
Wacky Wabbit’s bent bits are already away for repair:
Hangar 2 North and South:
TFC’s Hawk 75 was out for a run and sounded very smooth:
The Devon remains on the Eastern apron. Note the characteristic asymmetric elevator (the flaps are another matter!):

Back to ‘Miss Helen’ for some images sent by Steve Carter. These (rather low-res) scans show the Mustang arriving at Duxford, probably soon after her first flight in May 1987. Anyone have better images?
My earliest picture is after Miss Helen was repainted (as AJ-L) for the Memphis Belle film, seen here at Duxford on 3-7-89 :
