Thanks John, that´s a nice invention, wish I had that, when I was flying the gliders, sometimes there was an uncomfortable surprise, after tapping the glass.
May I ask you some more questions?
1.) The Altitude Limit Switch: Hmm, what happens when the selected minimum altitude is reached?
2.) The Relative Bearing Indicator: Bearing to what? (NDB?)
Herbert
….(loving the Altimeter vibrator by the way – forgot all about those)
Hi John
What does an altimeter vibrator do?
Thanks,
Herbert
You’ll have a GGS Mk7 there, with the head pad missing – a nicely rounded piece of rubber unlike the rectangular pad on say a GGS Mk5 fitted to Hunters. The side mounts are for a camera recorder that slots over the studs at the top and is powered up by a jack socket held in a spring clamp on top of the stbd coaming panel’s ‘roof’.
The (S)tatic pipework will run from the Machmeter down to the VSI, then across to the ASI and Altimeter (loving the Altimeter vibrator by the way – forgot all about those) and then away to a joint / manifold that can handle the panel being hinged down (may have been a short flexible section – can’t remember – 40 years!)
The (P)itot pipework will hit the Machmeter and the ASI then away.
Thanks a lot John, with that info I might be able to get the pipes to their place.
Regarding the gunsight, was the camera recorder installed all the time or did they use it, as example, only for training?
Hi Steve, right panels are reserved for you.
By the way, Javelin control grip wanted, if someone knows someone, who might….
Thanks and regards,
Herbert
Here we are.
I´ve cleaned at least the pilot´s parts.
Interestingly, the gunsight is not that version of the pilot notes. I´m a newby regarding postwar gunsights, is it a Mk 4E? Tha label is covered by a tape. There is missing something above the glass?
I also decided to only use the mainpanel, gunsight and left parts which are holding the radio control panel. A shame to split them, but I have not much space and my aircraft parts have to share it with my submarine parts collection.
If someone is interested in the other parts, please send a PN.
Also a drawing or picture of the mainpanel´s rear would help, I have several pipes and no idea, where they should go.

The mentioned ones were FAW7s, as an end production FAW9, mine would direct, when the Squadrons left, they also left some behind.
Herbert
Ah, I guess you are spot on, just had a call, the seller meant, the plane was scrapped in Germany and was painted white (?)
He had a picture showing the wreckage but no registration visible.
Will post better pictures soon.
Kind regards,
Herbert
Nav’s Stbd high-level panel – Big square hole under the Rebecca Mk8 indicator and Relative Bearing indicator – Marconi AD7092 ADF. This is what led me to suggest tropical fit since the GEE Mk3 indicator (CRT Type 24 or similar) would be removed – no good outside of GEE chains anyway, and replaced by all that good DME / ADF kit instead.
Hi John
I wonder, if German based Javelins also had the GEE removed?
Thanks,
Herbert
Valuable detailed infos, thanks a lot, John!
Will for sure keep my eyes open for the parts you are looking for.
Herbert
By the way, a 6A/3451 G Units indicator is also at my wishlist, if you want to get rid of one, please think of me.

Hi John
Ah, tropical fit?
Happy, that I can put my nose in RAF researches again, when I was collecting Luftwaffe stuff and was changing to RAF instruments, my german and swiss collector friends were always joking, how I could be interested in “the enemie´s stuff”.
Once I´ve got a nice Spitfire trim indicator (the only one I´ve ever saw) and a mint flap valve for some Euros from a collector´s widow at the Speyer aeromarket, because no one was interested and no one knew the value.
My interest started in Malta and we like to make holidays in the UK, we feel home there….well…hm…the food ;0)…
When I find other interesting Javelin cockpit pictures, I´ll post them here, the interest seems to be grater than expected.
Also better pics of my panels.
Kind regards,
Herbert
Aaah, thanks again Steve, that helps a lot!
I see the ARC 52 UHF radio controller, so it really might suit better than the PTR 175.
Herbert
Thanks Rob!
Hi Steve
Thanks for your valuable infos, can´t open the attachments, says “Invalid Attachement specified”.
Kind regards,
Herbert
Regarding the UHF radio control modul I at the moment only have the picture with the PTR 175 (the correct name I found out yesterday). But here´s a simulator picture and I wonder, if the reference had the ARC 52, that´s why I´ve cought a nice ARC 52 from eBay the day before yesterday.
John, you meant, the ARC 52 could be the more correct for my panel?
I guess, the PTR 175 was a later substitute?
Thanks and kind regards,
Herbert

Here the rear cockpit parts, seems, I might only need the radar sets.

Thanks a lot Terry and John!
Nice to meet you here.
I´ll pick the parts at monday then I´ll post some better pictures.
Here are the front cockpit parts.
Seems a later variant with bigger main panel, the older ones seem to have the left side oft his panel seperated, as you mentioned.

When I look at your great cockpit shot from XH767 I could think, mine could also be FAW9.
