We have received some more donations today from the Fleet Air Arm Buccaneer Association and the Buccaneer Aircrew Association boosting us up to just over £1000.
Well on the way to our goal of a pair !
Once again thank you to everyone who has donated so far it warms the heart to know you all want to see the Buccaneers continue to carry out taxi runs in the future.
i can categorically confirm that this aircraft will not be parted out. The rear fuselage, engine pods and wing sections are alongside the RUBB shelter that contains the front fuselage and other parts as they are worked on.
as this is owned by GJD services it is as stated near to the breaking pans operated by GJD.
a pretty good and very welcome response in the first 24hrs with over £200 now raised.
thankyou to everyone thats donated so far.
974 did indeed go to bruntingthorpe. A small team of volunteers is slowly beavering away in amongst collecting ground equipment and stores to carry out the painting and reasembly,
apologies for the delay in replying,
i think it also says mbru 61095 and iss 6313340
those numbers are really faded so i went for the one i could read
i’ve no way of doing that unfortunately. the items themselves are personnel equipment connectors and are smaller than our buccaneer ones.
we also know from trying that they don’t fit the gnat or lightning.
they were made in 1960 as well or at least packaged then.
Thanks Tony, all sorted. Unfortunatly i’ve had to works nights this week so a bit behind.
I once was at Honnington for a while in the late 70’s but was very very young, It wasn’t me ……… by 1980 i was watching Bucc’s out the classroom at Laarbruch.
