Cant forget how long we waited to see that MK 18 restored at DX and then never even see a test flight of it as it was shipped straight out to Jim Beasley!

CAA wouldn’t allow it to fly in the UK, then they tried to get the FAA to ground it in the US. The FAA promptly told them to eff off.

I’m sure many people would love to see the B-17 polished ~ but it took a year to do the B-24 and there just isn’t enough time for this to happen.

Mark Hanna made an attempt at polishing the Sabre, he managed to do about 1 sqft & then had an epiphany & gave up 🙂

The Spit, Hurricane & Firefly have been for sale on that site for over a year now.

A lot of that stuff on that site has been sold. They had another Spit listed several years after it was sold & had gone back to the UK..

Being a bit picky, the vertical perspective isn’t quite right on the fuselage side markings.

    Still very nice though. 🙂

It’s shown up on several TV shows since it’s been at VNY owing to the hangar it lives in being used for film shoots etc. Saw in on NCIS LA a while back… which just happens to be the very same hangar the USN/USMC sent it to when they first received it from Grumman…

Its not the only jack. They do always have two systems to jack the AC. The other one is seen on another shot 😉 attached to the fuse. Safety first

We use a chain fall attached to the roof for the safety backup (attached to the bar through the fuselage like yours), that way we aren’t at the mercy of 2 hydraulic systems with no locks 😉 Has the added benefit of being adjustable so we can get the aircraft level which makes life a lot easier when swapping Merlins etc.
