This video shows events leading up to the crash, but NOT the actual crash itself. Clearly shows the tail wheel pop out as the pull up starts. Informative video without the crap we really don’t want to see. As it pulls up there is a slight roll, correction & then the roll continues, it also shows the roll to the left/right & then left again before the pull up.
Video also has a respectable ending.
I would still like to see a video taken from somewhere other than the spectator area, preferably from a distance

There’s one floating about that was taken from way out on the fence line West of the airport, but it’s so far away you can barely see the seating area, let alone the aircraft.
Lots of people died, and we need to learn something from that – ie. How to prevent it happening again. Without the full facts, we cannot devise solutions to the problem, just ensure that we understand the issues as they arise.

That’s the bottom line, every time there is an air crash or incident etc, it gets published so others can learn from it, that doesn’t happen with car wrecks etc.
Good link btw 🙂
And as for the telemetry information being put in the public domain….!!!
What’s the problem? it will be in the NTSB report anyway.
I think it’s coming from JT…
Appears to be some confusion about CoG & inertia etc in this thread…. 😉
With a bit of work it is hoped this will be at next years Leg Ends….
There’s one of those for sale near me, think he’s asking $4500.
No, I mean “ah” as in “I see – I was wrong in my original assumption!”:(
oh. 😀
Ah!….
I think you mean “eh” 😉
I’m still trying to work out how you apparently lock up a Merlin by *mistakenly* building it with standard US fasteners instead of Whit.
Report on Wix says pull up (from the telemetry) was 22.5g, 375mph over the top & 500mph just before impact. Also 500mph at Pylon 8. NTSB pre lim report due Friday.
I am sure he/she is not a native speaker.
Western Canada.
True, an acquaintance of mine who was doing triage at the scene said they had 13 black tarp cases which means “administer pain meds until death”.
They just announced an 11th fatality, but said it didn’t occur at a local hospital. Kind of strange, altho I did hear one team had a missing member after the crash & hadn’t heard of him being found.
Just read a post elsewhere about people at Reno clocking the aircraft, Said GG was hauling the mail at 497mph when it passed RareBear…..
