You can ban guns…..but unfortunately you can’t ban idiots! 😀 (And don’t I wish that we could!)

If we could, it would empty the UK Parlament, the US Congress, Senate etc over night 🙂

You also can’t ban the homicidal, the suicidal, the alcoholic (but you could ban alcohol), the drug-taker or the sufferer of mental illness.

Mental illness etc is grounds for refusal to own firearms in the US. Guns don’t really affect the suicide rate, just the method with which it’s accomplished. Show up at a range with booze & see how fast you’re kicked out.

Looking at the video it looks almost a rerun of the Blue’s crash in Beaufort NC.

You’re being a little ‘wilfully ignorant’ yourself aren’t you? 😀

To my mind the worst thing any ‘pro gun’ person can do is pretend that guns do not cause some problems.

It doesn’t matter to me; surely if there were a majority of voters in the US who wanted stricter gun control then one of the political parties would chase those votes and that would be that. The fact that this hasn’t happened leads me to believe that most US voters want the gun laws to stay as they are.

Going after the 2nd is pretty much political suicide in the US, except in places like Califailure etc.
Guns don’t cause problems, idiots with guns cause problems. saying guns are the problem is like blaming the car for drunk driving…
There are maybe about 20 guns here & not one of them is causing any problems at all. Kinda like the radial arm saw in my garage isn’t causing all sorts of wood butchery because I’m not operating it right now & when I do, I know what I’m doing which is why I still have all my fingers etc.

If you want some info, have a look here:
    http://gunfacts.info/

    http://www.buckeyefirearms.org/Gun-Facts-Download

    http://www.justfacts.com/guncontrol.asp

The last one will provide all you need to know.

The anti’s twist certain facts to suit their agenda, for instance.. they include everyone up to age 24 as a “child” to inflate the numbers of kids hurt or killed etc.. 24 is a child? on what planet?

Is Robbies reaction strange? It’s an opinion, one he is entitled to hold just as much as you do yours. But turn it around a bit, I suspect there are people who would question why anyone wants to own at least 12 rifles and has pictures of themself taken with a handgun strapped to their hip. There’s always going to be disagreement about gun ownership and gun usage, but theres no need for anyone to be insulting about it.

    Regards,

    kev35

What I find insulting is the idea that some people think that merely because I own a few guns I’m going to shoot myself and/or my family members either because of suicide or because they think everyone who owns a gun must be a blithering idiot incapable of rational thought…

& Yes, Heslop01’s opinion is strange. Does he avoid looking at cars because thousands of people get mown down by them or wrap them around trees every year? Or won’t carve the christmas turkey because someone once got stabbed with a knife? How about avoiding flying anywhere because 60 years ago some bloke in a Lancaster bombed the snot out of Dresden etc? Maybe avoid a holiday on a narrow boat because of Pearl Harbor?

what happens if they strike when you are sound asleep ?? once you are in deep sleep it is rare you would be woken a burgler can pretty easily walk around the room you are in taking items without waking you , fact !! one of wich would probably be your own firearm !! if they weren’t armed in the first place , they are now !!

Doesn’t matter how deep I’m sleeping, if a window opens in my house just an inch or so the change in air pressure wakes me up immediatley.
Then you’re assuming the burglar knows the layout of my house, which way doors open, what room I’m in, where my gun safe is, where the keys to it are, if there is a gun within reach of where I was sleeping..(except I’m now armed, wide awake & waiting for you to step through THAT door, the one right there…) & manages to suss all that out in the pitch dark? All the guy will see is a red dot in the middle of his chest followed by a big flash, a loud bang & a thud as he hits the floor… assuming I were to fire the pistol, If I were to fire the Mossberg there would be a red mist where he was recently standing.

Meanwhile, in the UK, you get stabbed in your sleep & die wearing your PJ’s safe in the knowledge that if you had a gun, you probably would have shot yourself or your wife/kid/dog (according to you) 😉

Rick, Just a question, why is it some folk, are allowed to carry, but others are not, depending, as I understand it, according to what State you live in.
    Jim.
    Lincoln .7

Basically because in some (Democrat) States the people in charge think they should be the only ones who are allowed to have guns & in other (Republican) States they realize that everyone has the right to self-defense.

Diane Feinstein is the perfect example in Califailure, wants to ban guns, but had a CCW to carry her own. Then when that upset some people about her being a hypocrite, she hired an armed bodyguard instead… Apparently she thinks her life is worth more than mine or yours etc.

I’m like a few people who, personally I don’t like the thought of even seeing pictures of guns, let alone actually physically touching one, because all it makes me think of is violence and harm …..

Strange reaction, probably best that you aren’t actually allowed to be near any weapons. I sure as hell wouldn’t trust someone who thinks like you with anything more dangerous than a cupcake.
