And in view of the continued vilification of Robert Pleming (why can’t any of his ignorant critics even spell his name correctly????)

So because he refuses to read aviation forums, let alone actually post ANYTHING, you decide to make personal attacks on other forum members instead?
Way to go there sparky…. keep drinking the koolaid

OWhy on earth isn’t every single person on this forum backing it to the hilt?

I can’t speak for others, I can only speak for myself. I won’t give 1cent while Plemming has anything to do with it.
They’ve made a complete **** of publicizing this project since day one.

Apparently my answer to that question didn’t meet with moderators approval, so I’ll let someone else answer that.

Every other act pays its way, why can’t the Vulcan?

Name another airshow act with 4 Bristol Olympus engines?

Not that difficult to set up… but could lead the organizers to say “we’re not paying the usual fee as you’re getting a quid of every punter that comes through the gate”

OK so Sally B is cheaper, but what about Team Viper? Is that comparable?

Off the top of my head…The only other warbird that I think could come close to the Vulcan in terms of cost has to be the Collings Foundation F4 Phantom.. & even then I don’t think it would be that close…

Wondered about the buckets as well, why are there not loads of buckets by the exit gates, walking up and down the crowd line etc?

Because Plonker Plemming doesn’t read aviation forums….

Does Dave Lees frequent this board, Mark 12.

And does Dave still have that amazing Morris Marina that I used see at Duxford.

    Septic.

Sometimes parked next to the amazing Rover/Vought hybrid…

So, if it is so popular, and causes such an effect, then surely it should be self funding? Pleming himself said that three and a half million a year see the aircraft and if they all put a quid in the pot each time they see it the financial problems would be over. Why isn’t that happening?
    Regards,

    kev35

It appears the reason is a major fail on Plemmings part. Seems like the majority of the proles still think the RAF operate it. Which after HOW many years is reprehensible….

Whilst I feel sorry for those he left behind, at 55 yrs of age, he should have known better.
I remember the hoo haa when the law was passed, that we in GB had to wear them, and also seat belts.(Yes, I know you don’t have to wear a crash helmet on a Trike) Seemed damned stupid at the time, but common sence now.

In the US we have this organization called ABATE & their main bone of contention with the helmet laws is allegded injuries caused by helmets. They spout this uninformed crap to the moronic cruiser crowd who buy it hook, line & sinker.

I had a cousin (no helmet) who crashed through a phone box when I was barely a year old. He died in hospital just before my 40th. 39 years dying ain’t much of a living…

Am I gettng my facts wrong or something, but didn’t the Vulcan get its precious (and contentious at the time) HLF funding on the basis of it having ‘educational’ value?

Well there’s no denying that most of us have learned what a total plonker Plemming is.. 😉
