And I believe (I might be wrong) that he didn’t endear himself to the late Neil Williams after he had an accident in a Stampe at a show when he said to the crowd after he crashed “He’s taken it behind the hanger”.

It was more along the lines of:

“He’s taken it behind the hanger”…….. *crash*…….”and left it there…”

As I stood at Farnborough today luxuriating in the Vulcan ‘howl’, Dr. Plemming’s salary was the last thing on my mind…

It’s been stated that they need 50K/Month to keep the vulcan. If Pleming is pulling in 120K/year that works out to 10K/month.. which amounts to 20% of the cost…So the true cost is 40K/month if someone tells Pleming to sling his hook & b*gger off…

It will cost a LOT more than you expect it to.

It will take a lot longer than you think.

Having worked on these things for some years, I am well qualified to state that at least!

SOP is come up with an estimate & then factor in either 2x the cost & 3x the time, or 3x the cost & 2x the time. Seems to be pretty accurate..;)

I was just wondering how many people within TVOC are on the payroll? There are a lot of people involved all with the titles of managers, directors and executives. If they are all on the payroll this must come at a considerable cost.

From a post I read a while back it appears that Pleming is being paid 120K/year….Which seems to be quite a bit of wedge for a bloke who seems to do b*gger all except beg for money & make excuses.

I don’t think UK weather is too bad… considering London is about the same Lat as Winnipeg where it’s known to get a bit nippy..

The only way to guarantee good weather on an air show day in the UK is to move the airshow to somewhere like California!!!

Good luck with that.. it was 112deg here & RAINING on Saturday…
At one point I was out on the patio where my head was feeling raindrops, but they were evaporating before they hit the ground so the patio wasn’t actually getting wet which was somewhat bizarre.. At the same time just a few miles away they were dealing with flashfloods…

Said it elsewhere, they should have PA-free areas for those who know what they’re looking at and don’t want the dribble:rolleyes:

Why can’t they just print all that crap in the program? Then they could just announce each aircraft & promptly STFU 😉

Maybe next year someone will show up with an 18ft step ladder, place it in front of the tower & at the right time climb to the top, hold up a large sign for the commentators that just says “STFU!”:cool:

A VERY despondant and visibly hacked off pilot exited the a/c throwing his gloves down and burying his head in his hands on the wing for a minute or so.

Probably a word of thanks to some saint or other….;)

ooooooo space shuttle tiles would like one of them for the front room!!! 🙂

You can heat them up with an oxy/acetylene torch, then put the torch down & pick up the tiles barehanded without so much as a sizzle:cool:

P.S. Is it just me, or do Allison engined aircraft sound better than Merlin engined ones? (runs for cover)

Obviously the loud PA system at the your locale seriously damaged your hearing..:p;)

Fair enough about those with kids, People with step ladders though should be barred for life. Have seen them at shows right up front up on their F’in ladders:mad:

I think a better solution is: $30 per ticket, $300 with a ladder…:cool:
