Not angered, but amused & not in a good way.
I was hooning through some canyons a few days ago (Camaro, not the bike) & came up behind some guy on Harley. I know the next stop sign was less than 3 miles up the hill so I pulled over & waited 4 minutes to get a clear run up the hill.

I take off & barely get half way up the damn hill when I come up behind the Harley again….. cruising along at NINETEEN mph in a 45mph limit….AND he slowed down for the corners….

You may ridicule this if you prefer but I do pray for all those I associate with whether direct or indirect and all I can really do for you is to pray that eases your sadness.

Prayer is nothing but a religious person wanting to show they care & think by chanting magic spells that they can help matters, yet requires no actual effort on their part whatsoever. If I was to say “I’ll peel a grape for you” it would actually require more effort, but the ultimate result would be the same: You wouldn’t feel any different, it wouldn’t affect anything (except the grape I just peeled), but you get to sanctimoniously appear like you care. It is the most insincere bullcrap you could possibly do & quite frankly it insults peoples intelligence.

btw, Nice try playing the persecution card, but placing facts in front of willfully ignorant idiots isn’t persecution, it’s called facing reality.

You do realize people is plural or are you so blinded by hate such items are irrelevant to your distaste for the Christian belief.

Just a heads up here: It’s actually impossible to hate something that doesn’t exist. Hate needs something to focus on. You seem to be laboring under the mistaken idea that the bible is true, when it is in fact about as far from any truth as it’s possible to get. They couldn’t even get the entire creation myth straight which is why there are two contradictory versions of it in the book. If you like we could discuss the endless list of other contradictions contained in the book.

In another post I asked you what holy books aside from the bible you had read & what research you did to come to the conclusion that you picked the *correct* book. Maybe I missed that, did you answer the question?

You also skirted the question about what evidence exists to support your mythical being that doesn’t exist to support the existence of the other mythical beings?

Are you familiar with Mithraism?

Are you also aware that christianity was chosen by vote of top ranking Romans when they were picking a religion to control people?

Ahh, Rick, RpR may well have, but as has been stated elsewhere, there are 400 different versions, so the question, should have been, Which One?.

That’s his problem right there, he knows a *little bit* about this religion he supposedly practices, but when you mention parts of the bible it’s clear he’s never read more than about 10% of it. He’s managed to pick a religion that is pro slavery, rape, genocide, abortion, child abuse, misogynistic, supports killing innocent children & has only one book that reads like the worse horror film script you could possibly imagine. It’s is full of atrocities & crimes against humanity. Only a mad man would even consider it a source of morality. It would be absolutely the WORST source of morality ever written, were it not for the koran holding the #1 spot.

Apparently you haven’t read very much Dawkins at all. Your *fail* at even basic comprehension is staggering. Odd that you decided to bring up slavery. Your book has quite a bit to say about the correct treatment of slaves…. yet couldn’t even manage something as simple as instructing people how to purify water so they didn’t crap themselves to death…. & this is supposed to be the work of a supreme being?

What other religions did you study before deciding on the one you went with? Have you read the koran, torah or the book of mormon? What other options did you explore?

Do you feel that the bible needs to be taken literally? If not, then what assurances can you give us that the Genesis story must be true? Without that myth we have no sin, without sin we have no need, no use for the offer of redemption from Jesus?
If you can ignore, disregard or neglect parts of your religion, you can do the same for the rest. Was your wife a virgin on her wedding night? If not, why didn’t you stone her to death as the bible commands?

You have made up your mind before the conversation has started and at this stage in your belief are very unlikely to concede even the slightest defeat on any point. Engaging you further will only lead you to throw out more red herrings and other assorted fallacies. However, with that said, I’m interested in how deep a hole you are willing to dig.
