If you have steel parts & plenty of time just throw them in a bucket of molasses* & walk away for a few weeks.

    *15% Molasses/85% water

3 ways to deal with corrosion:

    Chemicals (converters, acids etc)

Abrasives (ALWAYS *least abrasive* first, until you get to one that has the desired effect.. so plastic or walnut in the blasting cabinet & only escalate to sand or AlOx when all else fails etc… same rule applies to grinding/polishing )

    Replacement

    What are you dealing with?

Quest for a vintage trailer continues. In the past week I found what appear to be 2 trailers made by General Coachworks of Marlette, Michigan. Started digging trying to find something about the company. Today this popped up, turns out they were part of Vought Aircraft.

2mph over is a joke, you appear to have had the misfortune to meet up with a prick…. or you pissed him off. We used to have one here that would write people up for 1mph over. Most cops ignore you until you’re 15+over. I was doing 95mph on a freeway a couple of weeks back & was totally ignored by the cop car that cruised past me. I even got it on video, although I’m sure as hell not going to post it online. I’ve also been stopped & told to “slow the **** down” twice in 2 weeks by the same cop, once for 85 in a 50 zone & then for 90 in a 55 zone. Second time he didn’t even ask for my documents as he knew I was legal from the previous interaction… although he did say if there was a 3rd time it would end differently 🙂

Air show are death waiting to happen. Does the act of standing atop an airplane wing while strapped to it by stainless-steel cables show talent? No. Just calculating bravery, which too often fails them. We’ve seen several “wing-walkers”–they really don’t walk at all–die in horrendous fashion in the last several years. Air shows are stupid. The common excuse is that they “display the wonders of flying to the general public,” when actually what they do is display the awful consequences of flying badly to every newspaper reader and TV viewer in the country–and much of the rest of the world–when something like this, which is truly worthy of the media expression “If it bleeds it leads,” happens. This is promoting aviation? I don’t think so.

Here in the U. S., one of the positive effects of the infamous sequestration has been the cancellation of a number of air shows. Good.

Remind me again, why are you on this forum if you detest aviation?

So people who break the speed limit shouldn’t be allowed guns?
