You talk of your Government being part of the problem. As a democratically elected body, surely the voting population had the opportunity to ensure Obama came second. Yet still he won and gained a second term. Or are you suggesting that democracy is not quite the type of Governance America now requires?

Obumble was elected with about 64M votes, the First Loser came 2nd with about 62M….. About 90Million other eligible American voters couldn’t be bothered to get off their collective fat ass & vote.

For the year 2010/11, there were 648 murders in England, Scotland and Wales of which 58 were caused by firearms. The population at that time was just under 62 million. The US population was just shy of 316 million. I’m sure you will all accept that both the US and UK are supposed to be first world countries. With a population of around six and a half times that of the UK, the murder statistics for the US are disproportionately higher than that of the UK and the rates for murder involving firearms are even more disturbingly so. How can that be explained unless the explanation is the simple fact that gun ownership in the US is totally out of control?

If a 5 year old can have a gun and kill someone can you execute them for murder at the same age? I have given up trying to understand American mentality. I am just glad I don’t live “in the land of the free”.

Of course you can’t FFS. There is something called the “age of responsibility” (or something like that).. which is exactly why the Bulger killers in the UK weren’t locked up for life.

Yup parenting fail on at least 3 counts: Not keeping the gun secured.. not keeping it unloaded… & not teaching the kid not to point guns at people unless you mean to shoot them.

Hollow points make a lot of sense. Better to down a large deer instantly, than have a high velocity round pass through the body and find a second home.

But if you are talking handguns, then I do agree with you.

Hollowpoints won’t go through the guy who is trying to kill you in one room, into another room & potentially hit someone else.
