Hi Bob
I fear it may be too heavy to bring to next years, unless we stay outside:)
John
Thanks Rob 😀
No updates lately due to the holiday season and the fact that the building our workshop is in is having some extensive renovation work which has disrupted us somewhat.
Nonetheless we’ve been fairly busy with the structure under the throttle box and the seat mounting mechanism. The pics below show the P1 seat slaved into position using the 4 off mounting blocks and bellcranks. It was gratifying to find that it all moves smoothly up and down and just needs the locking handle to make it fully adjustable in height 😎
I’ve also shown the throttle box mounting which still needs the flanged lightening holes installed before it can all be rivetted together.

Hi Richard
Congratulations on getting her. As you’re probably aware she’s well travelled and I did some work on her when she was owned by Murray Flint in Norfolk. She’s certainly looking much better now than she did then!
John
Welcome to the Forum
Nice project you have there:cool:
John
Hi Andy
There’s ‘The Stirling Story’ by Michael J F Bowyer which is pretty good. I think we might have some spare ‘new’ copies in our workshop
John
Blimey Cees
You don’t hang about:eek:
beers are on you then Bruce :diablo:
Funnily enough I was on Team 3 of the Jag maintenance Sqn (1 AMS) at Abingdon, but we never put any zaps on like that. Looks to be locally applied as I wouldn’t expect that to be allowed on any of our jets leaving Major/Minor* 🙂
A short update showing the 1st and 2nd pilot seats are now painted and ready for the next step in manufacturing the seat support and lifting mechanism. Apologies for the poor quality as all I had was my camera phone 😮
John
Yes, its the same one we were quoting from earlier. I think its an earlier version of that provided by Dave above.
I’ve got another one that shows the dayglo schemes!
Bruce
Thanks Bruce

Static Chipmunk cockpit and rear fuselage.:)
I’m pretty sure I’ve got the basics of the scheme but a drawing would be fantastic so that I can finish her off appropriately
John
Has anyone got the paint drawing for a silver and yellow RAF aircraft?
