Hi Cees
If all else fails, you could purchase them, get them sent to us and we could forward them to you.
I hear you were able to speak to Pino over the weekend?
cheers

Hi James
Interested to see some pics of those. Is there anything that could potentially be used?;)

Hi Mike
Wherever possible we do use original parts and try to incorporate them into the build; however, there’s very little surviving structure and what there is often belongs to thers so a loan is as much as we can hope for. We have close ties with Hindenburg and he lets us have access to his private collection and of course we reciprocate the arrangement.
It would be nice to incorporate the remains of LK488 into the build but a. they don’t belong to us and b. we don’t intend on going that far back…..yet:)
Thanks to all for the positive feedback
cheers

50 miles will take you to the Norfolk and Suffolk aircraft museum at Flixton.
35 miles to Fenland Aircraft Museum (weekends afik)
Well, tonight I removed as much of the corrosion deposits as I dare. I have a hard copy of AP119 somewhere and I’ll dig it out.
thanks for the good advice, I’ll let you know how we get on

Thanks all,
It’s getting to be quite a lump of structure now; it’s going to be an exercise in itself getting it to Newark
John
Thanks for the info John
I think that anything that prevents further oxidisation of the internal material is the way forward, just finding the best means for doing it

A little while since the last update, but we’ve not been idle.
We’ve now finished and assembled the P1 seat bearer to the floor beams and both assemblies adjust in the fore and aft direction. We can now concentrate on physically attaching the seat itself to the bearers complete with the height adjusting mechanism. I can honestly say that we’re glad to have got beyond this stage as there is a myriad of parts which go together to make a 3D jigsaw which not only has to look correct, it also has to operate in the correct sense. I’m sure that the next stage will have it’s own issues but at least there are fewer parts:rolleyes:

It looks like a twin mount for astro-compasses
Sob!!!
For the Jag only though:diablo:
It is indeed a big aeroplane! The Stirling cockpit that I am loosly assisting to recreate will practically be the size of a Routemaster bus when finished! 😀
I’ve never said you were loose David….then again:diablo:
Many thanks to Chris for providing me with a cracking photo of 927 in civilian clothing:cool:
It’s well worth going to his ABPic album too for some varied photos 😀
