That’s what I thought, I’m sure I’ve seen something like it somewhere but my aged brain can’t remember:o

Here’s a picture of a Stirling Nav Panel, as you can see if you look closely it states Static Vent in full under the ASI. can’t quite decipher the third word though, can anyone help?

    John

ps, hopefully not hijacking the thread, has anyone got one of note clip type thingies at the top left corner of the panel?

Who’ll be the first scale modellor to enter a model in a competition of the Tate with the two aircraft in it?:D

    Roger Smith.

    And why not…????

I’d rather see a Jag in a different light in a place where millions can view it for free, than mouldering away on an airfield in deepest Suffolk.

In truth I quite like it:)

    Hi Okfoz

I think that your post has answered my original question completely. The windscreens are the same for all the UK built Chippies, but I never realised that there was so much difference between the 2 variants.

many thanks and I’ll be in touch

Many thanks to all for their kind words and thoughts. It’s nice to know that for such a quiet and unassuming gentleman, Brian was held in such high regard by those who knew him.

We’re still going although we’ve been a bit quite of late. In the mean time we’ve just had some castings made of the control column lower shroud, original on Left.

A lot depends on the mod state of the aircraft. for T2 you’re looking at Mk102/Mk104 engines for which spares are thin on the ground, A T4 would have more spares available for the Mk 106 engines, but they’re more heavy on the software and have a 1553 databus to talk to the airframe. I’m a simple rigger and much as i’d like Jag to run, I wouldn’t like to take it on. Static cockpit for me…eh Paul C 😉

    Thanks John

That is good news indeed. More by luck than judgement we were able to ascertain that the 2 weren’t interchangeable, fortunately without wasting any money. The price of a UK version would be very much appreciated.

    regards

    Hi Paul

So she’s finally turned up and your ambition of opening the aussie Cold war Museum is coming to fruition:diablo:

Don’t forget the Jaguar though, she must remain your first love! :p

    cheers
