Thanks for that Baz, brings back some memories; bed packs the photoframe etc
John
Thanks for that, I pretty much guessed as much.
Looks like a facsimile will be the order of the day
Cheers
John
Hi Martin
May take you up on it, I want to check first though as I don’t want to add to our woes considering the hassle we’ve had so far
cheers
John
Can’t post a picture at the moment, but the following link will take you to one for sale on the web.

A bit more progress to show. We’ve been unable to c/o any major assembly/manufacturing work as we’re in the process of leaving RAF Wyton :(, however, we’ve been able to get some parts machined up, in this case the pilots longitudinal and transverse floor beams. These parts are critical to the next stage in the project, allowing us to assemble the seats to the beams and to give us mounting points for the control columns and rudder pedal assemblies.
Hopefully we’ll soon have sorted out the new workshop and I can give you more regular progress updates.

Hi Elliott
Might be worth trying to contact Fenland Museum as they’ve done some pretty deep digs in their time.
John
Hi Paul,
You have overcast skies in Oz? 😮
It isn’t like that in Neighbours:diablo:
Seriously though, looks to have been an interesting and varied display and great pics

Anna Luisa – Kirsten Dunst;)
Stirling, Lancaster, Mossie etc
This one I think is a type F bomb selector unit, the Stirling had a further type G with switches numbered 17-32.
Sean Bean……way too old. The BBC radio play of Bomber was very good, but that dates back some 15 years so even the cast for that would seem long in the tooth by comparison.
I agree with the comment above, a tv dramatisation would probably be the way to go as per Das Boot.

The blue harness above looks very similar to the one fitted to my Chipmunk (although mine is black). If anyone has some spare shoulder straps in this style, I’d be very interested as I’ve only got the lap strap for my rear seat 😉
cheers
John
If you’ll allow me to pop across the border (just) into Bedfordshire, there’s the Wheatsheaf in Tempsford which has a nice display about RAF Tempsford and SOE ops.
John
safety thread…possibly an earlier interpretation of safety wire = ie thin copper wire which when broken shows that a safety mechanism has been operated. eg Clear Aircraft Switches, emergency door handles etc.

Oi Dave, don’t forget us! :diablo::diablo:

thanks for the ideas. certainly looks like 8 letters, Extended could be a possibility but I’m not sure how it would fit in this context.
