What I would like to know is why does a high profile member of the royal family take calls? Can’t the Madge get her on the mobile?
As to the Nurse topping herself. Probably more to this then meets the eye.

Revamp the club. Stick a collection bomb under her nose. Get tin collectors out like they used to in the old days. Stick some new markings on her. Have a Sally B day. Have a photo-shoot with re-en actors, bomb trollies and a talk. Speak to Airfix and get a B17 Sally B new tooling in the shops. At the next airshow I want to see a “save our Sal” campaign. Have some better commentary at shows – I’m sure good commentary goes a long way to selling the exhibits. Any US Modern Aircraft care to attend her birthday.

In other words “try something different”.
There is support out there. My nephew thinks Sally B is the best aircraft on the circuit.
What happened to North Weald this year. Could have had a Sally B and friends fly-in.

What’s it like being a supporter these days? I was a supporter for 13 years but when it became a charity I felt a little left out. With the Great Warbirds gone, Biggin Hill closed shes faded into the background a little. Need to fly the Sally B flag a bit more vigorously. Especially in these hard financial times.

If Just Jane can get a few hundred quid out of me with a non flying experience I’m sure there must be ways of prying a few quid out of people with a flyer?

Now what was he doing there? Charity chimney sweeping?

Perhaps he was looking for his pidgeon?

When the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbour America was only the 7th largest military power in the world. 12 months later and it was arguably the largest.

Biggest mistake the Japanese made at pearl was to miss the oil storage facility. Take that out and it would have severly hampered operations. The outcome was still a foregone conclusion however.

I used to leave in Southampton Way near Burgess Park, South London.
I can remember a street where an old victorian lamp post had a shrapnel hole in it. Often wondered what the story was. Now I can check!
Very dissapointed when a few years ago I went back to find the ornate lamp post had been replaced with a cheep and nasty modern one 😡

I mum was very small but can remember the V1’s flying overhead. My dads school was destroyed in a raid.

Isn’t this the reason why the lanc is grounded when crosswinds exceed 10 knots?
Something to do with modern airfields having only one runway so not possible to always land into wind as they would have done during the war. The lanc always had a tendancy to ground loop.

Very clever and well done. How was the rest of the new Airfix kit? You certainly made her look good!

The new Airfix tooling is a very nice kit.
Plastic is a little soft (because of the scale thickness of some parts) but quite manageable if not ham fisted.
The wings, while logical still need a little fettling and some bits were lopped off so they would fit together.
You also get a trolley and torp nicely modelled.
The figures are from the Revel BoB set. You don’t get any figures with the new Airfix kit ???

You can see the build here

    So, baby-boom in 2013/14 then?

I’m pleased for them and it’s a great thing for the country. Just goes to show what happens when wills gets his Chopper out.
But, come on, not constantly for the next 6 months please. Already there is a program on TV called “Kate: Baby Fever!”.
    Less is more.

Oh My! so for $299(US) you get a camera and assorted mounts…collar cam of the the dog tearing up the yard, priceless. Imagine a cat chasing a pen laser?? oh the possibilities are endless.

    jim

Well, I would attach one to my P51 or B24 however I think I may have to settle for the cat!

So how much would it cost to set up one go-pro camera then?
Was thinking of attaching one to the cat to see what it gets up to when I’m out!

Just as a matter of interest. I own MSFS 1 (On cassette tape) 😮

    Moggy

Would that be Sublogic Flight ?
I had it on 5.4 inch floppy for my C64.
Had a very nice manual and maps of the (from memory 3 USA) scenery areas. Explained ndb and vor flying very well.

Anyone remember 747 for the Vic20! 3.5 k for a 747 sim and it worked quite well. At least I enjoyed it as a kid.
