When I was down at Cranfield I used to drink with a bunch of post Grad studes, they were solving the world every night, so one day I wrote down a set up numbers like 23 44 28 14 32 11 19 and asked them which was the odd one out……
They spent the night on it and in the end gave up, asking the answer I replied 28, it’s the only one on the local Chinese menu that isn’t a curry 😀 then beat a rapid retreat.

In an ironic kind of a way isn’t that the problem with this message. Your joke points to a one time encryption. You had to know about the menu to solve it. If this pidgeons message is also a one time encryption then unless you find the menu, book or notepad the encryption was conceived on you haven’t got a chance.

I dont believe it matters who is in power or when. Recession is just a trend that happens to capatalist economies. We have boom, we have normality, we have bust. If you happen to be the party in power during boom everyone loves you. During bust everyone hates you. But if I had to put my finger on something the government has done to create this situation I don’t think I could. Governments just plod along and the economy waxes and wanes. This recession would have happened regardless.

What worries me is the trend for this country to become a service industry rather than a producer of things. The constant keeping the poor under the thumb with immigration, high tuition fees and what have you.

What is the possibility of seeing a Mosquito over here very soon?

In the last two years I’ve owned two cars. A Sierra and a Mondeo. Both of which don’t have ABS. So I’ve learnt to brake optimally. On the odd occasion I have used a car with ABS (Audi A3) the ABS has not kicked in. I guess I’ve learnt to drive without it?

I suggested self-belief and many other options – your wife, your children…..perhaps. I would not believe someone who told me that they believed in nothing.

I guess it depends on the context. Belief in your family is different to a belief in some god. I personally do not need such belief, but maybe one day?

I reckon it will be millenia before man is disconnected from ethereal belief. After all he has worshipped one god or another for about 50 millenia. And then what will it be replaced with? Self-belief or will material objects or scientific discovery be the idol of the 50th century inhabitants of this planet?

Replace it with nothing. Why do we need to believe in something?
