I enjoyed my trip to Reno in 98 and hope to visit again one day.
Hope everyone has a safe race.
BTW is Rare Bear still flying?

This is at the biggining of the program. It mentions a “Training scenario to intercept Russian bombers”. This has nothing to do with the scrambling of fighters later in the episode.

    Policeman “Name?”
    Man “Daniel”
    Policemen “Surname?”
    Man “Dan”
    Policeman “Occupation?”
    Man “Lavatory attendant”

Policeman licks pencil and speaking as he writes, writes…
    …”Dan, dan, lavatory man!”

    – from Carry on Screaming.

    Fakir Off!

If Carry on Up the Khyber was best then my God the rest were worse….

Dr “what’s the matter with you then?”
Patient “I fell over onto my backside”
    Dr “rectum?”
Patient “well, it didn’t do them any good!”

It must be a little bit alarming for the passengers especially if it’s the exit side that catches!
Wouldn’t it make sense to have a crewman with extinguisher ready at the wing during engine start just in case?
    Third time luck.

Are you going to bury it?
Didn’t they have a problem of filling with water as the depth went below the water table. In which case how are you going to stop it rusting?

BTW what happened to corrugated iron? As a kid it was used every where and I can remember cutting my hands climbing over it on more than one occasion.

Sunday 9th 17:00 C47 in Invasion Markings heading South over Blackbush quite low.
Made me feel like a little Dutch boy wondering what it must have looked like seeing one for real in 1944.
Saw it in the distance Saturday so guess it was going to the Victory show?

Didn’t farmers used to buy these old aircraft for the wheels so they could use them on their trailers and such, or is this another aviation urban myth?

Just look at cars. My Mondeo is worth about £300 but I bet in 100 years it will be worth considerably more!
