There used to be a Russian sub moored at Folkestone but I think has since been broken up.
For unusual how about a T34 in the Old Kent Road?

Every so often it gets repainted by the locals. It was once pink and photographed adorned with scantily clad young ladies. Then it was painted like a large cigarette.
Cool Cat. (Ish mine, all mine!).

Its surprising that a “debate” can be “joined in” by so many people who seemly “dont” want to debate it?
Quite agree. BTW what do you think about the Mars Rover? Pretty astonishing acomplishment especially considering I could never get mine to start.

What I find interesting is that it isn’t very invasive. With all the channels on the box it’s not `in yer face` like in the old three channel days. As I live in Hampshire after moving from London 6 years ago it’s also neither a hiderance nor and advantage. In fact, it’s passing me by quite naturally. It seems to have had the same effect on most of the spectators. All those empty seats.
What with all the fighters, missile sites and army it’s 10 Billion well spent I say.

They should be given the same respect as our own.

Helmet mounted sights and the new generation of highly maneuverable WVR missiles are making extreme agility of aircraft a bit less significant these days, so I imagine that close up the Typhoon wouldn’t be horribly mismatched against the F-22.
But IRL it would be very very difficult for Typhoon to get to WVR dogfight with an F-22.
Don’t be too sucked in by all the technology. Vietnam war, no guns, lots of technology. In combat needed guns, started to turn off the technology (Pilot overload). Not saying technology is bad but, other factors make a great fighter, fighter pilot.
Annoys me when they state they are going to make it an airshow for local people. From a Londoner of 40 years it’s always been a local airshow! I remember getting a Greenline bus from New Cross to the event as a kid. For many years it was the only show I, and many London kids, could get to.
Bring back the show. It alone promotes Biggin Hill, the military, aviation, the airport better than any management blurb or slideshow ever will.
MH434 has worn Norwegian colours at least once.
So what they are saying, if I read the blurb correctly, is put the show back as it was but without the fun fair?
Better idea. Put it back the way it was with the fun fair.
The day before the start of the Iraq War I clearly heard two A10’s over London at night without nav lights.
