Injured not wounded please.
There is a bbmf formation coin with the flight in gold due for issue. Will set you back about £90.
The people who fought in WW2 did so for our freedom and security. Suggesting they did so we could have coloured in photos trivialises their endeavour.
I wasn’t debating wether we should have coloured in photos just the fact I don’t believe it adds anything. Much like coloured in old war movies. I prefer the black and white originals.
Colouring of black and white photos is not a new idea. You could purchase a photo with a small paint set which you coloured with your finger. I have one of my father serving on HMS Anson durin WW2.
“The only airworthy DC-2 in America was recently retired to the Museum of Flight in Seattle. It did fly for many years in Southern California, and that is probably the aircraft you saw.”
Possibly this one. I think I saw it at Salinas Airport in 98 (or possibly 2001).
Thanks for the info.
Is there a point at which a large scale r/c model is considered a real aircraft?
Or are they always just large models?
That’s a very nice model.
I wonder what the regs say about flying such an aircraft bearing in mind an r/c model can go out of control a lot more easily than a real one.
Would hurt if that hit you on the head.
While on holiday on Scotland spotted a Civilian Huey Helicopter parked in the garden of a House near to Loch Lomond.
Anyone know what this aircraft is? Painted red and while (I think).
I don’t think coloring old photo’s (and old films) adds anything.
In fact the black and white version is more dramatic and says more (to me) about the stress
and anguish of combat in the pilots face.
Black and white adds a vintage authenticity to the picture.
BTW what was the fate of those pilots?
I visited Lashenden Battle of Britain airshow this year. In terms of the quantity of aircraft it rated quite low but for enjoyment, excellent weather, variety and some fabulous formation flying I thoroughly enjoyed it. You also had the museum and a ‘buzz’ I’ve not felt since biggin hill. Would definitely consider going again.
The problem with some of the bigger shows is they are a victim of their own success. Variety is the spice of airshow life.
I’ve ditched Photobucket in favour of Flickr Pro.
Flickr pro gives you the ability to link images.
I’m paying about £4 a month for the privilege.
13:06 pm two Apache Attack Helicopters over Fleet.
So, if you don’t get free or reduced admission what other benefits would you get as a friend?
I though free admission was the point?
Well she isn’t the first Mustang to return to Duxford on a low loader.
I seem to recall Candyman Moose returning in a similar fashion many years ago.
Poor old Miss Velma. Seems the lorry taking her back to Duxford got stuck between a signpost and her wing.

Oh, okay. Just going on a previous comment that said it wasn’t making any noise and prop was windmilling.
Maybe it was loss of power rather then no power.
