Are display maneuvers normally performed at their minimums or would an additional safety margin be added?

You don’t believe we need to reduce CO2 emissions?

    Moggy

I believe we do but more positive action needs to be taken.
Investment in new engine technology with a view to replacing diesel and petrol by 2037.
If it was made law worldwide it would happen. Not sure how the Middle East would react though.
Taxing me will not reduce my diesel consumption. I have to use my car.

A flypast of 109E, Mk1 Spitfire and Hurricane and I’ll be happy.

I’d suspect the largest obstacle in the future will be the potential serviceability of the aircraft computers.

I was wondering that too. I would imagine neigh impossible to replicate an intricate and bespoke CPU.
If that is the case then flight unstable aircraft (if that’s the correct term) will not survive.

Don’t you think it’s amazing all those Americans, hundreds if not thousands of aircraft, trucks and equipment.
Hundreds of Airfields. All built within a few months. Massed armadas flying over England.
If I didn’t know it actually happened I wouldn’t believe it.

I wonder what it feels like to see 1000 Bombers cruising overhead?

    Bone Tomahawk

A weird, weird, weird cow boy film but definitely worth watching.
After watching I’m still not sure if the film works. But it’s certainly different.

I watched the first five minutes of this, and it looked like being the typical American war film, with lots of blood and explosions in slow motion.
I shall have to watch all of it, before forming an opinion.

You should persevere with Hacksaw Ridge. The first hour of the film contains no combat at all
and focuses on the main character from boy to recruit. The ending, if you didn’t know was a true story,
you would not believe (although I gather time compression makes it more dramatic than it was).

    Hacksaw Ridge

Part love story, part war story, true story.
First hour is a tad boring but watchable. Battle scenes are predictably brutal. The heroism of the main character carries the film.
Not sure whether the realistic, brutal and confusing battle scenes work.
    Overall a good film.

    Unbroken.
The true story of a B24 crewman.

Some nice B24 cgi and a very good film as well. Similar to the Railwayman.

I’m glad the BoB hall is having a revamp but also sad that we seem to have no large aviation museum exhibit for the battle now.
While the aircraft in the BoB hall were not `accurate` they did give a flavor of what the battle was about.
Is this move to cement Cosford as being a leading aviation museum?
Loosing some of the large airliners and transports has certainly undermined it as an attraction (for me).

“Well, if she is melted down, all we’ll have to show for her expensive resurrection are digital recordings and several loud (and environmentally questionable) outings. Hope it was worth it.”

No. What we have to show are the memories of the thousands who saw her fly.
When 558 waved farewell in the 90’s I never thought I would get the chance to see a Vulcan fly again.
Well I did, as did my nephews and family did and it was worth every penny.
When she waved farewell again, standing among all the people who had turned out to watch just a fleeting glimpse as she flew overheard for the last time.
    It was worth it.

It’s towns where the major pollution problem lies today, shifting emissions to the power stations, and particularly reducing particulates, is pretty near essential right now.

Me? I couldn’t care less if some people call them green, I couldn’t care if some people think they are hugely money saving and they are not.

All that matters to me is how good a car is to drive, and I’ve driven a few EVs and I’d have one tomorrow if I could afford it.

    Moggy

Do these cars make any noise?
Heard a few stories (myths?) of deer, cats, dogs, people being run over by them.
Quite literally couldn’t hear them coming.

Electric cars are a bit like VR Headsets. Kind of neat but not very practical.
Until you can travel 200 miles on a charge and re-charge in 10 minutes a complete waste of time.
