Did a Sea Fury suffer the same fate recently? I seem to recall a news article just after Christmas but can’t remember the details.
    [yes, this one]

The service 474 is undergoing, would that have been done to an operational Lanc? Or are these types of service exceptional due to the aircrafts age?
I was wondering how long this sort of thing would have taken for an operational Lancaster as comparison.

I visited Duxford on Sunday to see the BBMF Lancaster, and for the first time noticed either a masking tape or a painted stripe on all the fuselage joints, although the fuz is still together.

Just quickly checked a few pics, and can’t see that they’ve always been there.

The other paint looks intact, maybe they are re-applying the fabric strips?

In the 90’s at Biggin Hill I can remember the BBMF Lanc landed, taxied and parked up.
The crew then exited the aircraft and one of the ground crew did a quick check. There was a long fabric strip
dangling down from one of the sides, bomb doors.
So is fabric used as a fairing on some of the Lancs joins, joints?

Listened to an interesting `Ted Talk` where they discussed conspiracy theories.
    My favourite quote;
“You can tell a good conspiracy theory by the level of negativity. Why are there no positive conspiracy’s ?”
Quite correct if you think about it.
Of course, no one’s interested in positive things. Far too boring.

I tend to think like this.
All conspiracies are bunk because no government has the intelligence to concoct one that devious, cunning or interesting.
Heck, they can’t even keep their `duck houses` secret.

It looks quite a good item. The painting looks to have been done by someone who at least knows how to paint.
The material looks like canvas or some sort of linen.
So are we saying this is a professional fake? Or could it be genuine?
    What dictates it’s fake?

The last time I looked, the ‘seasonal variations’ were a consequence of the Earth’s tilt at twenty three and one half degrees. I take it that you mean that ‘seasonal variation’ and not variations to the established seasonal variation of which I’m unaware ?

All these variations sound to me like an Enigma.

Was quite surprised to see a real Panther Tank featured in one of the scenes, and what looks like a C46 on fire?

    Rogue One
If you are a Star Wars fan go see this film. If you are not don’t bother.
Starts slowly, builds to a predictable battle scene and brilliant ending.
Most things make no sense and characters are wooden, but the cameo’s, battles and ending are all worth it.
Brilliant film for Star Wars fans. Dull nonsense for the rest.
    I loved it.

Hendon is one of the few aviation museums that can be got to by a child living in London.
I used to spend many happy weekends taking the tube from the Elephant and Castle down to Colindale to visit the museum.
I’m not sad the BoB hall is being replaced with something new as the old hall was very tired.
I am sad that the aircraft are being dispersed. They should remain as a collection.
Hendon itself has been somewhat neglected overall imho. The removal of the upstairs ww1 collections and the general moving around,
mucking about with exhibits. I do like some of the new additions.

Didn’t a famous BoB pilot flick roll a Spitfire by stalling one wing and converting that into a roll?
Bob Stanford Tuck rings a bell?

BTW Mark Hannah was killed in a landing accident not performing aero’s.

Does it for me as well. Like the site has been hijacked by some kind of malicious software or virus.
