Mind you he did drive out the other side.
I had an 87 Escort which used to cut out if you splashed a deep puddle.

The rear wheel hub on that tractor, did it have another purpose?
Always wondered why it was such a large metal slab different to most other tractors.
Almost looks as if you could attach a winch or power something with it.

I hope one day in the not too distant future we can welcome the Russians back again when (Hopefully) Tensions have eased between East and West.

Isn’t that more to do with flying competency than cold war tensions.
Didn’t two Migs and a support Tanker miss-understand air traffic control and fly right through Heathrow airspace one year heading for Farnborough (or is that a myth) ?

Doesn’t this rather make a mockery of being in the EU.
We should all be buying and selling EU steel, not Chinese.
If everyone is buying Chinese what exactly is the point of being in the EU when our industries can go to the wall?

BTW as alight hearted aside did anyone hear the news reporter slip in what appeared to be an obvious joke when he said,
    “A TATA source said today…”

I think we have to differentiate between rapid decompression and rapid decompression resulting in the loss of control and eventual break up of the aircraft.

Mythbusters tested the Hollywood `bullet through the window passengers sucked out` scenario (by pressurizing an airliner and shooting a bullet through a window) and determined that this does not happen.
There is a rapid blast of air and a passenger next to the breach may move but there is not enough force to suck you or anything else out of the aircraft.
Perhaps if the hole was big enougth and you were not strapped down you may be sicked out by the slipstream.

A cargo door blowing out most likely will cause a loss of control, break up and lead to passengers thrown out in seats like at Lockerbie.

Something that has always interested me is what would have happened to Concorde at 80’000 feet with a rapid decomp?
U2 pilots wear Spacesuits for a reason.

Reading the latest bulletin, reading between the lines it seems to suggest mistakes were made, rules need to be tightened.
In other words we need to do something because people lost their lives. I get that.
But will it mean the end of historic jet operation or airshows as we know it. No, I don’t think so.
Airshows will still be a big part of the culture of this country. Maybe some operators will cease but there will still be enougth
dedicated people, with lots of money who will strive to fly these aircraft. While there are people willing to pay to see them.
Shoreham is a dark spot on our hobbie but we have to accept that accidents will happen.
It’s upto the operators and pilots to ensure that this sort of thing does not happen again and accept any changes enforced upon them.
But it’s also upto each of us to accept that accidents will happen, accept that fact and move on.
