Your not wrong Moggy, what the Americans seem to so conveniently forget is that they are the only nation on planet earth to use nuclear weapon on another
country not once but twice, they seem to bang on about Dresden and Hamburg but the above seem fair game, is area Bombing only OK if you do it in Daylight?

Well, at least the RAF bombed Dresden. 250 B17’s sent to bomb it the morning after hit Prague by mistake.

When they found the wreck of the Ark Royal there were several Swordfish scattered on the sea bed. They were in reletively good condition except for canvas.
Obviously a lot deeper and protected from currents than in the channel, but they had survived.

    How about,

Senior member of the crew referring to one of the gunners as `Junior`.
Crew enter local British `Pub` to be informed “Sorry Yanks we’ve sold out of Whiskey!” followed by complaints of warm beer etc.
Tempers fray when American and RAF crewmen clash in the local pub, but then reconcile their differences when they realize `Johnny went down over the Channel`.
Frequent references to the word `Gee` as in “Gee, that was a tough one”.
Pilot looking pensive before effortlessly swinging into the aircraft from the front hatch.
Constantly chatting up the local girls even though in reality the pock marked local tarts have turned yellow working 18 hours in a munitions factory.
A scene where a dead crewman’s belongings are shared out among friends. Including a naughty book (that gets tossed across the room), picture of wife / girlfriend and the ubiquitous harmonica.
Girls who will perform any act of sexual depravity for a pair of `Nylons`.

Do operators make much money from film or tv work?
Filming of Memphis Belle saw one aircraft lost and several blown engines.

I know they were the enemy but you have to feel for those Luftwaffe pilots towards the war end.
They were being systematically destroyed by allied air power.

Five of us went to Flying legends this year. Taking into account petrol, food (which we took with us), entrance, flightline and program it cost around £200.
While I don’t consider it cheap it’s the going rate for an event and when you consider the upkeep of the aircraft I would say pretty good value.
I’ve never had a problem getting into or leaving Duxford (or any show for that matter). I arrive before 10am and leave after an hour of walking around the hangers after the show, when most people have been fighting to get out.
Just need to chill out, watch the departing aircraft, stroll around the hangers and enjoy the evening.

It’s other shows that are suffering. I used to go to quite a few displays (typical year North Weald, Bigging Hill, Mildenhall, Old Warden, Fairford and several Duxford shows) but now only one or two. Just Legends and Shoreham this year. When I was younger fuel was cheeper and I only took myself.

I never really understand activities that threaten your life without some form of backup.
Would it have made a difference if he had a parachute, just in case?
Is he brave or just bonkers?

What is it with Pigeons, especially Wood Pigeons. They just stand in the road begging to be run over. You don’t even have to swerve these days.
Got a Collar Dove on the motorway slip a few weeks ago. Covered the windscreen in white goo. Must have exploded when I hit it at 70.
