And that relatively complete project used significant new-build elements sourced from somewhere apparently unacceptable to some.
The prototype G-FWWC has been exported to NZ and re-registered ZK-RFR. It appears to be quite active at the moment:

It had been hoped that it could attend Wanaka at Easter, this is now not going to happen.

Didn’t the RAF do some segregating by country? Ceratinly some units were from varuious commonwealth countries, a form of segregation.
That was generally at the request of the Dominions/Colonies involved. The RAF (along with the RN and British Army) would have preferred the flexibility of posting individuals and units under their operational control where they thought they would be most useful.
Beg to differ on “can’t get lower”. The wheels are at least intended to come into contact with something without any give. See the Sunderland touching down at Rongatai for lower and survived.
Yup, stunning models, several folks I know have built them, he also owns loads of flying replicas like the BE2 and Fokker Triplanes..
Yes Harmless Lancs and the other full scale on I think was a Wellington..
A few originals as well, Avro 504 (which was flown by many NZ aviation pioneers), BE.2f, the world’s oldest working RR Aero engine (pulling a Brisfit repro)…
Ten Lancs I think it was, plus Wellington.
I wonder if PJ’s new near-neighbour James Cameron can be encouraged to take an interest [duck and run….]
Not actually too bad for Coastal Command
Catalina = Plane Sailing
Sunderland = Kermit eventually
Liberator = Collings Foundation
Fortress = Sally B
Anson = Bill Ross New Zealand
Hudson = Temora
Blenheim = Duxford’s example in due course
Beaufighter = Skysport or TFC eventually
Beaufort = Australia eventuallyThen borrow a P-3 Orion or a P-8 Poseidon from somebody to replicate today
Note the due-to-appear-at-Wanaka-at-Easter Anson is in the colours of 206 Sqn Coastal Command.

The NZ-based Catalina is in RNZAF colours. Of NZ non-fliers, the ex-RAF ex-RNZAF Sunderland is in its RNZAF retirement markings. I’m not sure about the MOTAT Mosquito, but its not Coastal Command.
I’m afraid that the NZ Harts are a wee bit off flying.

Well I’m thinking about the Berlin Air Show, so there will be compensations…
I realised last night that there is a good chance that I will be in Europe when the (first) mossie flies (briefly) in my native New Zealand! 🙁
Hi Steve,
I popped into MOTAT this afternoon (it was much too pleasant in the nearby Western Springs Park to stay long), and got some photos of the film on display. See WONZ post.
