I think that’s great news.
Aerolineas has, in the last years, been a major disappointment to Argentine air-travel but hopefully as said in the article, with the restructuring and re-generation of their fleet matched with the SkyTeam membership the airline will improve on many levels.
I have to say, having flown Thomas Cook now, the flight was pretty good! Though check-in was quite crazy, as they wouldnt accept my e-ticket and I had to get the travel rep to print me a hard copy ticket, the flight itself was great!
It was an A320, sadly not a 757 as Id hoped, but I got given emergency exit row window seat, the meal was good and we arrived 30mins early! Definately worth the £90!
I saw the same thing, when I was in Windsor I saw an Air Canada A330-300 that had just departed Heathrow and its landing gear were out as you had described! Must be the cooling theory. Glad to clear that up, I stared at it for a while thinking ‘perhaps their landing gear retractor has failed!’
I agree, exceptional- thanks for sharing it!
The shot over Heathrow truly expresses just how large the A380 is in comparison to the surrounding aircraft…MASSIVE wingspan! 😀
They use the MD11s on some of the Caribbean routes; Bonaire, Curacao etc as well as to Quito and Guayaquil in Ecuador. They also run them on some Africa flights e.g. Lagos and such, I’m not sure where else..Im guessing they will soon be phased out by KLM.. 🙁
Yeah it was an Iranair 747SP. I live on the other side of Heathrow and saw the jet depart back to Tehran later that afternoon 😉
I was under the impression that Easyjet don’t charge for airport check-in but they recommend checking in online for convenience. Anyone else know for sure?
They don’t charge for Airport Check-in, but I’m not sure if they charge you for checking in at the airport after having checked in online yet not printed the boarding pass.
Flybe don’t charge for check-in, yet charge £10 for not printing the boarding pass! Whereas airlines like bmi allow you to check-in online then print it at the airport. Who knows!
Really great shots. Do you know where the Iberoworld was coming from or if it was running a charter?
What I did conclude is that the A330 seems a very small aircraft to be using on the Rio – Paris route or any other long ocean sector. I will not be taking an A330 or equivalently small aircraft across any ocean in future. I’m quite happy to fly long ocean sectors, but only in a B777 upwards, thanks.
Well, I don’t think the A330 is incapable of flying Rio-Paris and barely making it. I flew Heathrow – Sao Paulo which is probably 1000km further and it seemed fine 😉 Very comfortable aircraft
Thats terrible! Sort of comical, but still, terrible! Lucky there was no traffic around on the taxiway.
Ironic how this event happens shortly after a KLM 737 took off from the taxiway at Amsterdam.
Truely great shots- little piece of history right there! How the world of aviation has changed in the space of two decades!!
Where did the BMA fly their Shorts 360 to? Seems odd to see that in Heathrow, knowing that the smallest commercial aircraft at Heathrow today is, perhaps, the Erj135! (Correct me if im wrong!)
There are many I like, and dislike, but I have to say that Royal Jordanian certainly has a very elegant livery!
Always fun to have a thread like this 😀
Best, so far..
Emirates (excellent overall service and quality)
Lufthansa (Comfortable, good service)
Vueling (flown on AMS-MAD, tv shows shown and good service!)
British Airways (Flew LHR-EDI yesterday, very good service. Given
a hot breakfast in economy!)
Virgin Atlantic (good service, food, inflight films etc)
Worst, so far..
Ryanair (I hate the fact you have to pay for EVERYTHING. Cant trust it really)
Iberia (old, grumpy crew, yucky food, no PVT on the A340-600!)
American Airlines (Delayed, grumpy old crew, poor service)
Monarch Airlines (As with American, but the crew were young and grumpy)
Thomsonfly (Old Aircraft, poor service)
You’re right, it does apply to any country. My point being that the views of the Falklands is not necessarily that of the people of Argentina but of its government and politics.
It will be devastating to the people, it would affect relations between the two nations even more than it is now and frankly it would be a shame, as the British public would get a stereotype of Argentina, if they dont already have one, that would not reflect the people of the country.
The Argentinean government is, honestly, stupid. I hope the president realises this isnt going anywhere fast and that Brown isnt budging, which is fair enough.
