SNAP!
Meanwhile dahn under, this Bell Iroquois was demonstrated at the RAAF Museum’s Pageant on April 9th. It’s in use by the Australian Army (never throw anything away) was ex-Air Force, so it was welcome at the RAAF base, is a Vietnam vet, and the crew flew it down from Oakey in Queensland – a looong way.
Are there any in use as air display aircraft in the USA?
Talking of Aussie Vietnam vets, the exploits of my Uncle ,John Scott( door gunner RAAF Huey Gunship) are documented in this great book
(sorry the pictures rubbish) its a top read!
cheers

The agony of choice…hmmm
Very true. And they are both so well looked after (im not saying the other Spitfires out there are not) and the Grace Spitfire is something special.
It certainly is, having sat in that cockpit I would give Carolyn all the funding she needs…………… and for a relatively cheap $5.5m one of a kind FW190 D13 finds its way to Duxford, while I learn to fly it! nice! :p

This is so sad, a great man indeed!

How about this then!!!!!
Thanks Mike J for the note, wish Duxford would get an operational ME-109 again. I remember the great air display back in a few years ago, seeing my frist look at Black Six flying at Duxford on a October day beside a Spitfire. Needless to say it was a thrill
to hear that Damler-Benze engine along side the Merlin. Still hoping to one day see an operational Mossie at Duxford, what a shame one is not flying these days! Thanks again !BlueNoser352!
even better
