France is the bitch of the US/Israel. What can I say 🙁

You can’t criticize communists in France.

Nicolas, could you try, please, spare us your pathetic vision of how the world is working, it’s not the proper topic.

I don’t think the Mirage 2000 tooling exists anymore.

The first information regarding IAF interest toward Mirage 2000 were heard in 2000 or 2001, at that time, everything was still in place.

That was in past when there was no LCA. Now LCA can play role of fighter with Western subsystems.

The only problem is that LCA program is way older than the MMRCA competition.

and French political uncertainity risk is getting higher with time due to well known dependence.

What kind of “french political uncertainity” are you talking about ?

read and understand the links that i provided. explaination is contend in them.

I couldn’t find the price you quoted.
And I repeat again, that article was written in february. That’s why I wonder how you can use it to prove your point about a very recent event.

they will lease some Gripens. it is non serious approach of getting all this TOT for 36 aircraft upfront.

So, they cannot wait after all ? :diablo:

Growler provide magnification to the rest of F-18.

Are you implying that E/F-18 must be support by Growler while Rafale flew without their help ?

I tried to understand that article, I swear! But it hurt my brain… :diablo:

One lesson learn during all those years, debating on forums about prices, it’s that getting an accurate idea of price is extremely difficult.

Not a very credible report in my opinion.
Rafales offered in India are offered at french prices (on iso conditions) adjusted to specificities of the indian deal.

Of course India will get Rafale at french prices on iso conditions, it’s everything else that rise difficulties to have a clear idea of the final price.

Cost already rose from 11 Rafales for Euro 1 billion to 4 for Euro 500million.

What deal are you talking about ?

Brazil can look around for couple of more years.

Yeah, they can wait for as much time as they want, but not their air force.

Rafale/EF production per year didnot reached F-18E and neither of them has stirke abilities developed soon enough. There is no EF-18G version of either of them.

Strike abilities of the Growler ?
Well, the main question is if there is a point to answer to JSR.

Brazil/UAE non decision will raise the cost for India.

    http://www.sunday-guardian.com/investigation/rafale-cost-could-soar-into-skies

Nothing has changed, so the cost will rise ?

if Qatar sells their Mirages, what will they use?
and UAE sells their Mirages and refuses to buy Rafale..?

For Qatar, there is F-18/F-15/Eurofighter and even F-35 on it.
    http://www.thenational.ae/business/aviation/qatar-targets-multibillion-dollar-fighter-jet-deal

For UAE, one thing is sure, they can only sell their planes with the agreement of Dassault, but I suppose that Dassault don’t have any interest to be in bad term with potential customers.

Now it is like the year of 1979 for EF-2000 and Rafale. Let’s hope the real Anglo/French product will be able to come out 20 years later…….

Well, it seems we are in a much more confortable situation

    I agree 100%
IMO France should be partnering with India, Brazil and Russia.
    Nic

Since the cooperation on the neuron looks fine, Dassault should try to capitalize on that instead of trying to work with .. whom exactly ?
What will India or Brazil can bring us ?
I know that SAAB can bring something.

Spin your yarns somewhere else…. My sources included IAF pilots still working in the air force, and information carries around there.

Give us names or keep it for yourself.
We had our share of “anonymous sources” from JL.

Unlike you, I use a “mosaic pattern” of putting things together for confirmation from many sources.

And how can you conclude I don’t do it.
It’s quite funny, because when I wrote it, I haven’t you in mind.

Most of the time, I don’t even waste my time reading fights on forums, but something amazed me.
For a full decade, the idea of the IRST on a fighter was written as “poor and useless idea’ but now that the Typhoon has it, thanks to PIRATE, it’s a must have.
    Very interesting.

The IAF reported that the MMI was superior in early reports. I got most of my information from the horse’s mouth itself: IAF sources and also press reports claiming IAF sources. Some of the stuff of course came from other sources like journalists, Pepe Rezende, etc.

IAF sources and PR “claiming IAF sources” so, in another word: NOBODY.

I’m aware of the association between the French and “cheese eating”…..
    ….
So it should be “as full of holes as Swiss cheese.”

In fact, I had that sentence in mind:
How can anyone govern a nation that has two hundred and forty-six different kinds of cheese?
    Read more at http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/c/charles_de_gaulle.html#DCqx0TTdpxS2oFrX.99

All that talk of cheese has made me hungry. I’d really fancy a nice bit of Brie de Meaux……

Just be patient, if simulations of global warming are right, in 2050, you will be able to drink lots of champagne made in Sussex (or even Gloucester, I don’t remind exactly).

    lol,
This is not the first time this guy bashes the Rafale like that.
It reminds me an other poor article of him 1 month ago.

Good job Kovy, zhile reading the PDF that remind me another article and you found it.

This “report” (?!) is an absolute disgrace !:mad:

The author doesn ‘t know what he is talking about , it is as simple as that .
    Cheers .

I fear one of his colleagues just change some columns for an april fool.
“The Eurofighter is a full ton lighter than the Rafale and his better range afford a good work in cooperation with the Sukhoi fleet” :diablo:

Isn’t it Swiss Cheese that’s renowned for the holes?

Are you really implying that you know more about cheese than a bunch of french ??

When 80% of the teachers vote for the candidates that represented only 28% of the voters, then you have to wonder about our democracy, and especially our education.

False, he won because he got the voices of all the people who milk the system. And they are legion.

I’m reading enough bull**** on french forums and I wouldn’t like to see the same on foreign forum.

    You think you’re a tough guy ?

Has Hollande (or more likely, Socialist Party defense specialists) taken a stand on the near-term UCAV issue, i.e. whether to go with the Israeli platform or to just buy American off the shelf? (the latter just putting extra money that would be spent developing/improving/indigenizing the Israeli platform, instead spending on R&D for future French projects)

Well, nothing has been said during the whole campaign about the military question, except that everyone would like to see the beginning of a european army.
BUT Mr serge Dassault was close to Sarkozy, that’s for sure.
Will Mr Hollande prefer to push EADS versus Dassault ? We cannot be sure of that.

Hollande wants to create more jobs for French workers, so he may don’t like the contract for Indian MMRCA right now (100% transfer of Rafale’s techonology to Indian to let them produce Rafale by themselves after selling only 18 “French workers made” Rafales to IAF….).

And I am worry that if he tries to renegotiate the contract of MMRCA, will he finally screw Rafale’s chance in India up totally ?

And you think he said that seriously ?

The more important I believe, is what it’s going to be for overall EU Economic Restructuring programe ? Hollande say he will back doen on most Economic restructuring agenda that Sarlozy already agree on. This potentially will make the whole European overseas military capability in jeopardy for near future.

Honestly, except the Green who wanted to lowered the defense budget, nobody talked about the french army and gave a clear new direction.
Even extreme-left understand now that military industry = jobs 😉

BUT now, if you want to buy Rafale, the new president can sign the contract for you.

Then , if you ‘re a bit in the fighter business you should know that the French ECMs are usualy very highly regarded within NATO . The M2000-5 ICMS suite is known to “pi$$ off any RWR/Radar around (!) and this ECM suite is rather old :p

French but with some Italian blood too IIRC 😀
