France to develop PAK-FA or anything with Russia? No way, unless the French president or someone else states they will need something for their replacement of the Rafale and that they will work with Russia then I’ll believe it, but right now NO.
that has been announced back in June 😀
We’ve already got several threads about that .
that article is a bit old, isn’t it ?
Anyway, I find the american behaviour a bit weird.
FRom a political point of view (the link of the first post) Washington seems to be interested by the brasilian deal.
On the industrial one, theirs offers have been jokes, so ?
GRippen and F-22 😮

The US sold them crap in 80 and 90’s, why would it be different in 00’s ?

Algeria with Su-24MK + Mig-29 SMT….Morocco with Mirage F-1CH/EH + F-5E/F….I guess Morocco will seek some Mirage 2000…F-16 ex-ANG…or something like that
About Morocco, I heard some programs from Thales and Sagem about a major upgrade for Mirage F-1 with Morocco in mind.
Among others, a mini RDY radar etc.
but nothing official so far.

“the F-15S in the hand the the RSAF hardly worth the name of fighter ”what are u trying to say?
the F-15S is a pice of sh*t and is too difficult to maintain with the unefficient saudi technicians.

Hyperwarp
Good point.
On the other hand, I doubt that China will post on Intenet how the future state of the art XXJ will looks like 15 years before it’s ready.

Yes, Dassault always refuse to heard about an upgrade of that plane since it wasn’t a “100% dassault” product. 😡

The only thing with that statement is that the Brits could (and probably still can) build nice looking aircraft that do the job well regardless. The Hawker Hunter, the Spitfire (of course) and the Vulcan
damn Phil, you forgot the best 😡

the only thing that can save EF is a large order from some middle eastern country. The only few in mind are UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and may be Qatar.Qatar already bougt what they needed, Qatar andKuwait will go only with US, so last option is Saudis. Saudi Arabia according to some news last year and rumors among the vendors and brokers suggest that it will be a French platform.
UAE has bought the F-16block 60 so the EF2000 is ot of question for now.
Well, I always heard that Kuwait isn’t really happy with their F-18 in comparison of the qataris mirage but as you said, for european countries, these two are out of question.
Well, Saudi Arabia is a hard case.
The king is really anti american so, more or less anti-british, but I doubt that this guy would dare to buy the RAfale.
that makes me think.
What planes could really replace cheap planes like Northrop F5 or Dassault mirage III or F-1 ?
I don’t know if you can buy no a F-16 block 15 or 30.

I think it would be hard to explain Rafale to the public, as it would not be cheaper then EF. S
If germany want to buy Rafale, it would be a major deal, so don’t even think to compare that price to those of the EF2000.
Well, that 40 to 1 victory of the new Miage 2000-5 was vs fighters who use the same tactics than vs mirage 2000C, but they got others tactics, those for real BVR planes.
Even if that, the mirage 2000 is the clear winner but with a more “normal” score of 75%.
