Love how the crew are kitted out as if they are about to go out for a sortie in a Tornado or equivalent fast fighter, but are infact only in a wee prop. ๐Ÿ˜€

Great shots Britannia! Just seen ZAPK take off from here several minutes ago, looks very nice in my opinion! Haven’t had the oppurtunity to go photographing at STN in a while, due to school work and other commitments. Summer holidays in several weeks though, hoping to bring back lots of nice piccies!

Only one more week left for me! ๐Ÿ˜‰ :p
    Excellent pics!

does anyone know if mytravel are ok or may go bankrupt or could have massive delays by the 17th july and know the current state of the company
also we are flying from gatwick at 6:50am does anyone know what aircraft we would be on concidering the cruise liner holds 1000+people and other people just going to hotels?

does anyone know the current state of gatwick airport if the viewing is available from the sports bar in the departure lounge and know good places to view a/c at palma or malta etc.

also has anyone been on the cruise ship or alcudia pins in the last 2 years?

    thanks

Mytravel are here to stay, atleast for the summer, so no worries there.
Delays can happen to anyone, although Mytravel aren’t the best, you’d be unlucky to be seriously delayed.
I stayed in Alcudia a few years ago, at the Bellvue holiday village. You can’t miss it! The thing dominates the place! ๐Ÿ˜€
Looks out for a restaurant called ‘Bananas’ on the main strip(if it’s still there!)
They were the best out of all of the restaurants I went to in the 2 weeks.
    Superb garlic bread! ๐Ÿ˜€

Who wants to fly from EDI, I would rather fly from GLA and get a wide body plane with PTVs.

Almost 8 million people a year actually! Have you ever driven down the M8?!
Your comment was rather needless, but nevermind….

Best bet is to have a look on teletext or flight arrivals to see if other inbound Atlantic traffic to GLA (for example) is also delayed by a similar margin? If so, it’s often down to weather conditions on the US eastern seaboard hampering departure times, happens quite a lot and if you’ve been watching satellite weather pictures of the last couple of days you’ll see it’s been pretty crappy weather coming from that direction, in fact I think you can look out your window to see what I mean.

The delays have been happening semi-frequently this the flight started.
The past 2 days it has been delayed 2hrs, and on a few occasions before that since it has started. Although I am reliably informed that the GLA suffered an even bigger delay today. ๐Ÿ™‚

Cool pics! Is that road the one that crosses the threshold of 24R(?) or is it 06R?? Anyway. i’ve stood on that road before at some rediculous time of the morning waiting for my Gran to arrive back from Toronto.
Infact, the weather looks remarkably similiar to when I was there. Strange! ๐Ÿ˜‰

It’s also a plane load of disgruntled passengers wondering why their flight is more than 2 hours late! ๐Ÿ˜‰
Maybe WD can give us an insight into EWR ops? because that is where the delays are originating. ๐Ÿ™‚
I wish I could see the movements like that from my back garden!

I have grown into the new livery of KLM. I like them better now than the previous livery, that looked too cluttered. Must admit though that it took some getting used too. Maybe you should see them for yourselve to get used to it.

The tristar has become semi-regular. They show up about once every week, I believe on the DCA flight. DCA used to hire a 767 from Sobelair, but with Sobelairs bankruptcy DCA has had to improvise.

As for the Austrian livery, well… itยดs better than their old livery… letยดs just keep it at that before things get nasty. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Love the KLM 744 pic. I really like the new livery now, I think it is a big improvement. It makes all the aircraft look so much fresher. The old one just looks gloomy now becuae of the grey cheatline! ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ™‚

    from Irish Examiner

    By Conor Keane, Business Correspondent
JETMAGIC is to be wound up after a search for fresh investors failed to secure an estimated โ‚ฌ15 million required to re-start the company which ceased operations from its Cork base in January.

Cork Chamber of Commerce chief executive Michael Geary, who led a search for new investors, said that at this stage he believed there was no one out there willing to put Jetmagic planes back in the air.

The Irish Examiner understands that preparations are being made to wind up the company, which closed in late January with a deficit of close to โ‚ฌ3.5m. More that โ‚ฌ11m in equity had been invested in the company by mostly Cork-based shareholders

Jetmagic has yet to appoint a receiver or seek the protection of the High Court by asking to be put into examinership.

A formal announcement on the method of winding up the company is expected in the coming days.

Accounts for Jetmagic Limited, covering the year to March 2003, during its start-up phase show that shareholders provided โ‚ฌ3.62m in interest free loans to the company in 2003.

It is understood that the loans were converted to shares since then. Among those who provided the loans were five directors who gave โ‚ฌ240,170.

Shareholders in the company, which include former Aer Lingus chief, Michael Foley; IDA director Gary Duffy; Bowen Construction director Pat Kelliher; Oโ€™Flynn Construction director Brian Oโ€™Neill; solicitors Colm McGuire and Ciaran Desmond; air traffic controller Jochen Schnadt; ex- Jetmagic CEO Pat Raftery; Gary Tomlins; Colm McGuire; Guy Perrem; Timothy Oโ€™Connor; Alex McCarthy; Kevin Oโ€™Connor and developer Gerry Wycherley, are understood to have invested close to โ‚ฌ11 million in the company before it hit the financial turbulence which grounded it.

In the year to the end of March 2003, company directors were paid โ‚ฌ212,478 in โ€œfees and other emoluments.โ€ An accounting team has completed a creditorsโ€™ list and the total amount outstanding to, mostly Cork-based service and supply companies, will be in the region of โ‚ฌ3.5 million.

Jetmagicโ€™s 103 employees did not receive any redundancy payments because the company was not in business long enough for them to build up statutory entitlements.

A further 25 workers employed on a temporary basis by baggage handling and service provider Servisair also lost their jobs when Jetmagic ceased operations.

Aer Arann has already commenced operations on the Cork-Belfast route replacing the service previously offered by Jetmagic.

No, Maersk are still going(in Denmark), but in the UK they seperated from the BA franchise and decided to go their own way as Duo…….and failed.
