That looks like a bird strike!? They are noisy, I was on the Greek island of Zante last year and our resort was only about 5-10 mins from the airport so I took a trip up one day and a Slovak Airlines Tu154 took off about 50 feet max.from me you can get really close to the aircraft at Zante and I loved the island itself. 🙂
Although I don’t have it, how many of us here use a flight simulator?
I for one do! FS2004, it’s closest I can get to the real thing just now when it comes to flying planes! 🙂
Did you get the reg on the TNT? they are regulars at EDI.
That’s quite a few stored aircraft you’ve got there!
The GLA service is marketed as GLA-LAX, but this includes a plane change at EWR.
Also, the EDI service is marketed as EDI-MCO as the flight number continues through to there but with the mandatory plane change at EWR.
Continental seems to be doing quite nicely doing just that! Continental has used the 757 in the past to many European destinations and from what I have heard intend to open up new European destinations with the 757.
Next to CO there are/where also other airlines. Think for instance Icelandair and Air Transat.
Yes ok, but you slightly missed the point. CO operate from East coast US, SFO and LAX in a 757 from London isn’t on, certainly not non-stop anyway.
Other clues are the bend in the fuselage on take off, the provision of binoculars to those at the back to see the inflight safety demo and the cabin crew changing shift’s half way down the aisle. 😀
LOL, yes that’s true but as I was sitting very much towards the front I didn’t realise until I saw this plaque thing. Then I looked behind me and yep the fuselage streched away along to the horizon so that confirmed it! 😉
They still have flights to EDI from Burgas and Varna that are both still meant to be Tu154s.
Obviously within 2 years of operation they are planning on getting 767s or something because I can’t see their 757s doing London-West Coast US non-stop.
That pic makes the 753 look even lobger than it already is!
oo you are a lucky bugger!
I’ve yet to even get near to a 300
I have also flown on a 753. It was TF-FIX of Icelandair back in March 2002 when it was brand new on KEF-GLA. I didn’t realise it was a 753 until I saw a plaque type thing by the galley I think, that indicated it was. 🙂
While all you are having the slog of a railway journey, I shall be flying down in pure Flybe Q400 bliss! :p 😀
I still like it how when you say to someone you are flying they seem shocked or surprised, when infact this flight is costing less than it would in petrol for the car! 😀
I would be! LOL, have you ever been up the CN Tower? Ok, slightly different heights involved, but still, glass floors with big drops below, I ain’t a fan of! 🙂
and I bet every person who happens to be walking over it when a 744 passes underneath will quite literally crap it! 😀
Good luck to you. I idolise all pilots! 🙂
I signed up @ 2pm, next slot was available @ 5:45pm!
I think we’ll sign up for everything as soon as we get in!
