A few other awards were handed out, this from another article on the same subject:
The Asia Pacific region fared very well, with Singapore Airlines
taking home four awards including Best International First Class and
Best Economy/Coach Class. Cathay Pacific Airways won Best
Trans-Pacific Airline, and Australian based Virgin Blue won best Low
Cost/No Frills Airline, beating incumbent title holder Southwest
Airlines as well as EasyJet and Ryanair.
UK flag carrier, British Airways, took home two prestigious awards:
Best Airline Based in Western Europe and Best Trans-Atlantic
Airline.
CSA Czech Airlines won the Best Airline based in Central/Eastern
Europe for the first time.
There goes Moondance making envious again! Absloutely stunning! 😮 😀
Oh dear. Central Edinburgh to West Glasgow in an hour. 😮
Great pictures! It’s great to have a pilot like yourself on this forum! 🙂
It is strongly believed by a cargo pilot ‘in-the-know’ that if EDI got a runway extension all those lovely 747Fs that PIK gets would shoot over to EDI.
I’ve been to Zakynthos, it’s my fave Greek Island I’ve visited. Very beautiful and great for a bit of holiday spotting if you want to! 😉 😀
WARNING THE AIRPORT IS A SHED AND CAN BE A VERY STRESSFUL EXPERIENCE AS SOON AS MORE THAN 2 AIRCRAFT ARRIVE!!
So I believe, but then so is GLA’s as well very probably, and they have a larger aircraft.
Sorry about the news, but you can be proud to go out at that age.
Both my Granddads have now passed away.
But anyway…….
Yeah, what Duxfordhawk said! 😀
Is it just me or does ‘near miss’ not suggest somethings that almost avoided each other but still collided? They nearly missed each other.
Whereas ‘near collision’ suggests somethings that almost collided but manged to avoid it? They nearly collided.
 😉
CO is going to be the EDI v GLA battle of the century! 😀
Anyway, enough of that!
It does, but you have to email the guy for the archived movements.
Never understood why people say a ‘near miss’. It is something of a clique.
If you think about it, it make no sense unless 2 objects collided.
I guess what we should be saying is a near collision! 🙂
When I’ve been to STN it is just 737 after 737, but then it throws up some surprises that you probably won’t get anywhere else in the UK, which I was happy to see such as Cygnus Air DC8 and Fedex MD11 which I had never seen before, so it was nice to see them when I visited. 🙂
You never know, I read somewhere they are about to announce 20 new destinations. HINT- PRIVATE MESSAGE 😉
