I test drove the Saxo VTR, nice little car – handles quite well, but I got the impression it would not last long the way I drive….
My bike can more that take it though
The problem is it’s French. π Mechanically it’s good reputation for reliablilty, but my car is a 2001 Y reg with 47k and is showing signs of wear.
It’s very nimble though, and chuck-about-able. π
Out of interest, what did you think of the brakes?

Indeed, my dad used to have 1.0 litre Corsas as he works for BSM (Upgraded slightly now with a 1.6 Astra ;)), and they ran forvever on a tank of gas!
The Seicento seems to be more thirsty than I imagined, maybe I should stop speeding! Not big and not clever!
The Saxo being a 1.6 definitely drinks more than the Corsa, but it’s worth it!
I don’t like speeding around town, no point in it, however I quite enjoy the odd blast out on quiet country roads or quiet motorways at night. Ssh. π

A mate of mine offering me free hotel accomodation if I went with him on those dates, thats the hurry! I’m not complaining though, 11 flight bookings in 6 hours, with 9 of them in the next 10 days π π π
Free accomodation! Well, it’d be rude to say no then. π
The Seicento has much more character, everyone at college always wants a Corsa as a first car, why not go for something different, everyone has Corsa’s! I know from the amount of them my dad has had that they are good reliable cars, and they are quite cheap….. Ah, maybe thats the reasons people buy them! :D.
Exactly, the Corsa was really cheap to run though, 1l engine and all π . Although one thing I just noticed, do you have to kneel down when you’re filling it up?! π

Ooh yes, Easyjet really are adding interesting destinations. Seems to me they are trying to tap into Ryanair’s market – e.g La rochelle and Krakow.
I though easyJet were going to announce something ‘big’ at Edinburgh soon as well. I hardly call a weekly ALC flight big
They’ve finally come to an agreement for expansion from EDI and GLA, although it’s about 5 years too late. However, yes we were expecting something big from EZY in Scotland, and all we’ve got of any worth is SXF from GLA. It wouldn’t be so disappointing if they hadn’t talked it up so much to the point where we were expecting something more than daily/weekly ALC, AGP, PMI…
here’s a little taste of reality…..my sabuka….(Saab 900)
We had one of those years ago, a red 1987 2 door one, built like a tank, ’twas. π
Very nice Saxo Stu!
Thanks! Only had it a couple of months, and I’m loving it. Nice mini Ferrari too, very nearly got one of those as my first car, but got a boring Corsa instead. π

Cheers everyone! I’ve just gone mental with my birthday money and bought a trip to NYC and SFO for next week!!!
HA, that’s definitely madness. π What’s the hurry? π
Have to agree, that is just a wee nip at GSM, totally pointless by EZY, Really can’t see EZY do much more at EDI, as GLA is to become a new hub, and NCL takes care of the east coast. Have to laugh at the line on the EZY blurb:
“Todayβs announcement also holds “exciting” news for Scotland” the excitement of 1 weekly flight, taking on GSM’s daily flight….not really Foreman V Ali…….
Their expansion from Scotland so far has been all talk and very little to get excited over. SXF has been the only worthwhile addition, the rest is just disappointing. Still, with more new routes expected from EDI and GLA in the months to come, we’ll just have to see what happens…
Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday!
How old are you Stuart! :D.
You’re never too old for sledging! When we only get snow roughly one day of the year you’ve got to take advantage of it, and this was extreme sledging at midnight! :p I regret leaving that plastic bag, it was better than any of the proper sledges, just needed a bit more padding. π
But it’s all gone now. π Probably still some left on the hills though, might take a trip up there tomorrow night then! π
