    Nice pics.

Jet2.com B737-300 (Red Tail Landing as the Channex 457P)

Guessing here, but that may have been arriving from EDI? This morning there was 3 Jet2 aircraft on the ground, based CLEZ obviously that sits on the cargo ramp all day, but also TF-ELA? It had a white fuselage with red tail anyway, and another B733 with the red tail. It’s possible that TF-ELA was operating for Flyglobespan, but I’m not sure what the other B733 with the red tail was doing here.

March I’m told, hopefully towards the end of the month as I’m home then! 😀

Yes towards the end of the month would be good! Plenty of notice would be good too so flights aren’t too expensive. It’s a long way to drive! 😉

Would imagine the slots aren’t finalised yet and the times will change 🙂

Normally if Jet2 haven’t finalised times the timetable says “Morning/Afteroon/Evening departure”, and doesn’t give any times at all. Although if it is a W pattern then it would be a nasty departure time from LBA presumably as Tom says…

A regular around my normal French haunts as you can see – it was always great to see a well looked after (or even just a flying) Tristar – rare sights nowadays!

Indeed, I was very happy to see an RAF Tristar arriving at EDI a couple of weeks ago, hadn’t seen one in ages!

checked in luggage who book after 16th March will now pay a fee of £2.50 (€3.50) per bag, per flight if booked in advance on the website, or £5.00 (€7.00) per bag, per flight if presented unbooked at the airport

    Con of the Century! £5!
Online check-in is good though. I’m not sure how they can prove they are actually reducing fares by 9% though when they already sell seats for nothing+tax? Unless they are reducing the tax and charges?

    Not exact revolutionary anyway…

Pembo, all the 321s are baed at T4, and just do the European routes out of there. As all domestics go from T1 its extremely rare for a 321 to ever get operated on a domestic, and I’m still not entirely sure whether or not its happened at all yet.

There was an A321 on a shuttle run to EDI just a couple of weeks ago, that was the first time though, and so far the only time there’s been a BA A321 at EDI.

I’m pretty sure in a programme about that accident in CDG, that CDG is the only major airport to use two different languages for ATC communications.

Potentially (Well proven) very dangerous, if you don’t understand the language, how the hell are you supposed to be able to understand what another pilot is saying?

There’s a big thread about this on PPRUNE:

    All sounds a bit dodgy….

Is it me or is this a repeating trend that Globespan seem to be dropping routes on a regualr basis? What could be the problem: finance, administration, personnell?

Common sense? If the routes aren’t selling there’s no point in operating them and losing money.

Isn’t the GLA-STN service still going to operate once weekly though ? And don’t GSM have lo-co-long haul plans for Stansted ?

GLA-STN is getting dropped from the end of Feb, EDI-STN from the end of March. Yep, STN will be one of the airports to feature in their long haul plans too.

Flyglobespan haven’t pulled out completely though, they will still be operating TFS and ATH from STN this summer.

Anyone else vote for a name change? Might help their public image, assuming the press don’t put it on the front page! “Air Scotland now Scottish Airways”. Most non-original name I could come up with 🙂

    Gaz

How about they just **** of back to Greece and call themselves Greece Airways, that’d be nice. 😉

    Today’s GRE2711 GLA/EDI/AGP service was oprated by B752 SX-BLW.

19 PAX boarded at GLA and I think about 70 at EDI

    Hope this if of interest.

    lol 89 out of a possible 200 odd. Hmm…

Online check-in ? Whats the advantage of that in a “holiday airline” ?

Just what I thought, but in the words of Peter Kay, “It’s the future”! 😉

They have got a very good deal with Travel Servuce if needed. I think you will find that GCELR will go back to Jet2 end March

Thought they would’ve learnt their lesson from last year…!! That B734 was a heap of junk.
