Just got my license today! :D.

1st lesson on Saturday with my dad, hes a qualified instructor and he works for BSM, has a nice blue Astra 1.6 for me to learn in!

I had my first lesson in one of those with BSM, but it was free, after that I switched. :p

Dont worry too much about roundabouts, even experienced drivers mess them up every now and again. Just be ready to go, and when you can go dont hesitate otherwise you will be sat there for hours.

Yes, I did witness a guy driving the wrong way round one earlier today. 😮

Try to beat the statistics and NOT have an accident in the first 6 months after you pass your test.

    Woohoo! 😀

LOL – You like Mythos too? :).

Indeed, it’s better than Keo too. 😉 Keo is brewed on Cyprus, but after trying both this summer, Mythos is better IMO.

I like lots of different types, Stella particuarly, but I think one of my faves is the Greek beer Mythos, that I always have in Zante, tastes great.

    Anything will do me though!

Woah, I was just about to type that! 😀

Impossible to say. I think the 10 lessons is around the minimum you can pick it up in, and some people will take as much as 30. But then how many lessons can you handle a week? I could take 10 lessons, one a day, and be ready to drive within 2 weeks. Unfortunately the most I can fit in is about 2 lessons a week, so it’s still gonna take atleast a month. You’ve also got to get on the list to take your theory test, which around here is a week long. Once you’ve got that, you’re then able to book your practical test. The first date available here at the moment is 7th November, I’m still debating if I should take it!

7th November? Would be coming up for a year to the day since I passed! It was sometime in November anyway. Driving rocks. 😀

I parked in the staff car park and walked to the terminal. The walk at this time of the morning is great. You can hear all the morning departures taking off none more so than those beautiful and loud Ryanair 200s and you can confirm it was one of them by the line of black smoke that appears shortly after.
I was lookinf forward to trying out the BMI self service check in machine having used the Aer Lingus one many times which is simply brillaint and above all simple. So I approached the machine and an Aviance agent was there to assist and asked for my credit card. Errrrrrrr I dont have one I book using my parents card. ”Ohh well then unfortunalty youll have to Q” What the %£$*. What sort of self service is this. You MUST have a credit card or FF card. Well to be this is unbeliveable and Aer Lingus blow BD out of the water at check in. So I had to Q and although there was only 3 in front it took ages.
Everybody infront was transferring onto another Atar Allaince flight one lady to St.Johns a couple to SFO and a man going onto DUS with LH.

Lucky you, the staff car park at EDI involves getting the long-stay shuttle bus!

When I booked my flight to MAN on bmi I noticed it said this on the website, I didn’t book with my own card either, which meant I just went straight to the check-in desk when I arrived at EDI. 🙁 No queue though, so it was no problem, but it would have been nice to try out the self-service machines.

    Excellent report, Tom!

I think the Thomson 757s vary in age, the one that I flew on in both directions (G-BYAY) was only manufactured in 1999, but for example G-BYAD was built in 1992.

I think the higher the letter (D-Y), the newer the 757 will be.

I dont think 1988 is really that old, G-PIDS is 1982, and G-OOOG that I flew last year was pretty close as well, 1989.

I flew G-PIDS to ZTH! Looked nearly new on the exterior, but the overhead panels inparticular once you got inside gave the game away. 😉 I think G-LCRC, which I flew back, which is now G-FJEA (flown it in that guise too!) is also a pretty old B752!

What a bunch of moaners some people are. Have we really go to the stage were we cant go 4 hours without a television. The best IFE ever is a book. They are interesting, cheap and they dont break down. If you cant go 4-5 hours without a TV then you have issues. Try flyinh EI DUB-LAX with no IFE or FRA-SIN with LH. Youd prob have withdrawel sympthoms.

Nah, the best IFE is most definitely a window seat. 😉

Error on the tour operators behalf most likely. I assume your flight numbers are 864/5? Manchester doesn’t have any Eurocypria flights on a Saturday you are right.

    Flex 35

That’s the flights, and as you can see, they just don’t match up in anyway, in-order for GLA-PFO-MAN to be possible…
