Ah right, don’t worry, Tom’s reply explains it anyway.
No, i can’t remember the whole story and i can’t find the issue but in Airliner World about two issues back it mentioned that Virgin Nigeria was flying an Airbus A318 to Nigeria from Blackpool. If i’m wrong i apologise but i’ll try and find the story.
?! 😮 Virgin Nigeria don’t have any A318s AFAIK, and even if they did I’m certain they wouldn’t be flying them to BLK!
Hey there, don’t forget Virgin Nigeria flying between Blackpool and Nigeria. Well thats what i think i remember.
lol, I presume that was joke, right? 😀
EDI-EWR had an increase in frequency before MAN went to double daily, so that might explain it. EDI won’t be higher next month, I can assure you.
David Kerr stated that the MAN 2x daily started on the 10th June, which was actually the same time, give or take a day as the 10x weekly started at EDI….
No offence to EDI, but I can’t see where this can possibly be right.
MAN is currently served daily by a CO B757 and a B767.
Shome mishtake, shurely?
Hence the ‘EEK!’. 😉 B762s hold a very similiar number to the B752s, so MAN should be around the BHX mark e.g 13-14k, I’d of thought?
They are the provisional figures so there could be inaccuracies, but I wouldn’t of thought they would be anything too dramatic…
I didn’t realise the EDI route carried more passengers than the MAN route aswell as the GLA route! 😮 The MAN route must be feeling the effects of competition from BA slightly?
I was indeed – even in seat 11A which you can see in the shot!! Flight had about 60 people on it……quiet(ish)….
60? Getting better then. 😉
RIPConcorde – when you say you caught the globespan – do you mean seeing it or being on it? I was on one from EDI on Tues evening!!
Oh no, just him seeing it. So you were onboard though?!
Excellent pics, caught the EDI flight from Flyglobespan too. 😉
Yes the traffic is very busy at this particular site, it is quite near Preston I suppose, but not that near.
Ahha, I thought I recognised it. 😉
15 hours?! That’s a long delay! The EDI flight certainly didn’t suffer the same fate, and never has done so far the biggest delay has been 3 hours at the most I’d say.
Thanks all. 🙂
RIP,
In the photos of DAS Air, Meridiana and Vodaphone Ryanair where exactly are you. I have known LGW for many years and can’t quite place that spot. It looks like you are next to the old Staff Car Park Z at the West end of the Southern hangars or thereabouts.
Am I right?
Great pics by the way.
1L.
Yes, that’s sounds right to me. Taken from the same place as the departure shots, just through the perimeter fence at the end of the 26s there.
Nice shots mate.
I have a feeling HMCC is something to do with the wedding of Charles and Camilla, His/Her Majesty Charles/Camilla?
Also roughly how tall are you? I am 6’3, and after my flight on EZIB vowed never to go back on an EZY 319 again it was so uncomfortable.
Ah! Could be… It was delivered around the same time as the got married, so that would make sense.
At about 5’8″, I don’t normally have to worry. 😉 However I certainly felt more comfortable on it then I did on my flights on the ex Go B733s, now they were cramped. But at 6’3″, I can see problems arising! 😉
I’m glad to have found this forum : finally somewhere to share and learn more about my interest! I’ve always felt it isn’t exactly something I can talk about with other people as I’m afraid I’d be laughed at or found, well, ‘strange’. How would I describe myself? Maybe a bit of a ‘passive’ enthusiast if that’s the right way of putting it. I’m more interested in planes, particularly commercial aviation, because of the wonder of flight (how does something so heavy stay in the air for so long and all the rest of it), because of how planes are a means of ‘escape’ to somewhere else, and just because planes themselves are incredible, complicated things that have come a long way since the first flight by the Wright brothers.
Well, first post done….
Ah you sound just like me. I know what you mean! All you know have to say is that you would like a career as a pilot. 😉 Welcome anyway!
