BD406 EDINBURGH 1700 CANCELLEDThe SOU-LBA route seems to be very unreliable since introduction, no idea why.
It’s operated by Flybe, that’s why. 😉 They’re very all over the place with their punctuality. More often than not suffering more delays more frequently than other airlines…
Not sure what bmir’s problem is today.

Yeah, but the G8 thing doesn’t start until later this week – I think there’s more stuff planned, isn’t there (well judging by the TV coverage from Edinburgh city, someone’s expecting more marches anyway).
Andy
Nothing on the scale of the ‘Make Poverty History’ march, we have the anarchists trashing the city today. 😉 The next big thing is the Live8 concert on Wednesday.
Rather than Live8, I thought it was bringing the VIPs for the protest march, whilst the great unwashed were expected to walk from London – Branson and Geldoff walking from London would have really made a point, but fat chance of that.
Andy
The big march was at the weekend, so too late for that. Flight codes give a hint too. VS888… 😉
I missed it! 😮 Man, I’m lazy…. 😮 It’s the A346 I’m more interested in anyway. 😉
Yeah, I knew this. 😉 3x weekly frequency. Excluding PRG, it is the first route EDI really has to Eastern Europe, so I’m sure it’ll do well, especially with the amount of Polish people in and around Edinburgh I notice about.
I understand John Travolta will be attending the Live 8 concert in Edinburgh this Wednesday and is believed to be flying one of his fleet in to EDI?
Could be the 707 if we’re lucky?
Newspaper (can’t remember which one 😮
) called it a ‘jumbo’, but I don’t think he has a B747, so presumably will be the B707, which has visited before incidently…
Excellent pics, did the FR B732 use the full runway length?!
Hopefully I might be on a B7372, but doubt it….
Nice piccies 😛
You’ll definitely be on a B732. 😉 However, from what I’ve read, the B738s are going to start appearing on most flights from mid-July.
Very nice pic, which also reminds me that the LH A321 retrojet was at EDI today! I wasn’t expecting to see it here! It looks superb in the flesh!
Good news for NCL. I was just wondering as I didnt see it posted on here but are you aware of Globespan starting some new routes from GLA. I saw it on another forum yesterday and I saw it on their website but wasnt sure if it was old news on here.
I wasn’t entirely sure it warranted getting posted, they were no new routes as such, it was just more routes being released for the winter timetable, none of which hadn’t operated for summer. EDI-GVA is the only route annouced for winter so far that isn’t being operated just now, but it was operated last winter, so again, not really a new route.
Excellent pics! I wouldn’t mind a flight on ‘Pride of Scotland’ actually. 😉
EDI-MAN and BFS-BOH routes apparently performing “pathetically”
With already adequate road/rail/air links, EDI-MAN wouldn’t surprise me if it was struggling, although last time I heard it had picked up quite considerably, recucing it to 2x daily should help average loads.
That means more routes because?
(Not saying there will be no more routes of course, though I have read something on another forum that makes sense, its a way of utilising the QC a/c during the day so its not sat around doing nothing, same thing as happened at Belfast at 1st with the BFS-PRG route).
That’s where the EDI route came from, G-CELZ had been based at EDI for a good couple of months before the MAN route started, utilising it during the day. But now the morning flight is done by a MAN based B733 (it was the MANCHESTER billboard livery this morning), and will be reduced to 2x daily from August I think it is, so not sure what Jet2 have up there sleeve from then on with the based aircraft, there are rumours floating around of EDI-BOH… (but that’s another topic alltogether 😉 )
Not visited Concorde yet and I frequently visit the AVP @ MAN!
They are ripping you off in my opinion. For £12 and you only get 3 mins in the flightdeck!? 😉
Flex 35
It’s well worth it! Grabbing the pilot’s seat is well worth it, for however long, not to mention the fact that you sit in the seats in the cabin whilst listening to someone throw various facts/figures/information at you. Which are very comfortable btw. 😉 It just has something more to it than the various prototypes that you can also have a look at around the country.
Excellent shots there! Nice variety too. 🙂
Ah, no surprise there actually. The 757 hasn’t even left Gatwick for Larnaca yet. It should have left at 11.30am but still shows as being delayed. Nice one, FlyJet! 🙂
Good old Flyjet, seems I was let off lightly with the 3 hour we suffered a couple of years ago.
