Yeah, but isnt it nice to plan and look forward to? 😎
Just because i’m bored, thought i’d compile a list of when and how people are arriving:
Absolutely definite:
T5 – BA1338 at 10:50 am
A330 Crazy – BA1338 at 10:50 am
Matthew Murray – LS781 at 09:45
Kev35 – By car (Time unknown), maybe around 10am depending on traffic.
Grey Area – By train (Time unknown)
Wannabe Pilot – LS902 at 09:55
Future Pilot – By car (Time unknown) with Kev35, maybe around 10am depending on traffic.
RIPConcorde – BD382 at 09:40
TRIDENT MAN – Unknown
LBARULES – By coach at 10:20I am seriously considering paying £2 to change the time of my return coach so I can spend an extra 2 hours in MAN with you guys 🙂
Ok, so there’s 3 of us arriving at roughly the same time. Provided there are no delays do you want to meet in arrivals then head off to whereever everyone else will be gathering?
£2?! Go for it! 😉
Unsurprisingly, I’d be more than willing to go on another Concorde tour, it’ll be just over a year since my last visit to MAN/Concorde tour. 😀
Will it be ready for the 10th of August? 😀
Excellent pics! Around what time were they taken?
Yep, I read it earlier, pretty cool, eh?! 😀 I should try it in future. lol
Ice cool infact… 😮
You’ll be on the same flight as Matthew Murray on the way back :).
So I will! I need to start looking back through this thread I think. lol
That’ll be good, I’m not one to hope for low loads on EDI flights, but Jet2 never seems to do great on EDI-MAN, maybe we’ll have the B733 to ourselves! 😀 (ok, the flights haven’t been doing quite that bad….!)
Ok I’m booked! Scheduled to arrive at 0940 on bmi and depart back to EDI at 1900 on Jet2. 😎
Dont blame you mate! 🙂
You can check in for the return with Jet2 (At least you could when I flew to Belfast in 2003.)
That’ll be handy for the guys flying Jet2 both directions, however if I’m to fly bmi there I’ll have to check-in at MAN, a compromise I’m more than happy to make for a flight on bmi and an ERJ! 🙂
Thats the one I meant 😉
The walk isnt far from the cargo centre at all, I normally get the bus round to the AVP, and walk back to the terminal, that takes a good 40 minutes! I stick to the car park roof now when arriving by coach :), unless there would be loads of us going to the AVP this time.
Stuart – did you know that bmi are only 50p more expensive than Jet2? (You probably will) ;). A good deal me thinks.
Ah yes, but for extra variety I think I’m going to do bmi there and Jet2 back, it’s the aviation enthusiast in me you see?! :p Still the same price. Although the thought of self-service check-in both ways does appeal! (or even checking in for the return at EDI…)
fare basis:: TBABY
I guess that’s a bmibaby fare I’m looking at then?
Absolutely definite:
T5
A330 Crazy
Matthew Murray
Kev35
Grey Area
Wannabe Pilot
Future Pilot
‘Almost Definite’
LBARULES
RIPConcorde
Expressing interest:
BMI Star (quite likely, confirm on 30th June)
Green320 (could be going away…let us know what you decide)
Shamrock 321 (‘very tempted’…you know you want to)
AndrewM (wants to ‘try out Bmibaby’)
Ringway Sam (‘might be there’….let us know)
Martin EGTK (‘aslong as I can keep the 10th free’ …. how couldn’t you? )
David 2386 (‘Tempted’…you know you want to)
DME (anymore news?)
MME Movements (go on, persuade those parents!)
😉
bmi’s fares have actually got cheaper! 😀 Jet2 are still equally cheap. I’m going to book this ASAP now as it looks like it’s going to be a good ‘un!
Yeah, I’m not quite ready to commit yet as I’ve got to a couple of things to sort, but I’ve been looking at flights anyway, and would probably do bmi there and Jet2 back for a bit of variety. 😉
I don’t think it’s operating for bmi anymore…?
Dont forget EXT. that would probably be the 2nd or 3rd biggest base and is Flybe’s HQ
Oh yeah! 😮
Flybe’s major bases including Edinburgh
I’d say Flybe has 2 or 3 ‘major bases’, at BHX and SOU, and maybe BHD?
EDI with 2 based Q400s, I wouldn’t class as major, yet. 😉
They’ve said they’re going to expand everywhere, literally, but this has probably already been posted?
Couldn’t help but notice the latest rumblings from pprune, which mentioned eventually operating 5 B752s. (one of which would be based at EDI apparently)
Hopefully this speculation has some truth to it…
Excellent pics, Tom. 🙂
