Broncho, I’m not doubting the Apache would be useful for UK troops I’m simply inquiring if it is really the best option for battlefield support in 2020. By then it will be a 40 year old airframe design and would they be able to fit 2020 electronics when they struggled to fit 1990s electronics.
Sealordlawrence, I realise MoD waste isn’t at equipment level but surely somebody at the bean counter would have realised what is bought today for the AAC will need to be used by them for at least the next 15/20 years.
Personally I don’t think the Apache will be seen as such a worthwhile investment a few years down the line.
