Thanks.
How many people know that the Bf-109 made its first flight powered by a Rolls Royce Kestrel – and its last(?) flight(s) powered by a Rolls Royce Merlin.
Not totally relevant – but interesting I think.

Not me!
Yesterday at 15.00 I was driving my van on A303 about 10 miles west of Stonehenge when I was buzzed by a Chinook heading north at about 100 foot! 😀
Brooklands getting a touch-up!

I visited Brooklands a few years ago and while I was fascinated with the articles and aircraft on display I did think the place looked very run down. But how was one of the most important places in the country (world?) allowed to be destroyed and turned in to little more than a business park is beyond me. :’-(
Unfortunately it can never be returned to it’s former glory but hopefully this can go some way to restoring some semblance of pride in the history of this site!
How manoeuvrable is the F14 compared to its compatriots, modern aircraft and obviously the MiG28?
were any of the pubs in Amesbury frequented by RAF pilots in WW2 with Boscombe Down, Netheravon, Upavon, Old Sarum, Middle Wallop and Thruxton all nearby?
What happened to the ‘190?
I’m guessing there are aerodynamic advantages from both designs of tail fin and was wondering if being able to use both during flight would be beneficial (everything from manoeuvrability to fuel economy).
But will there ever be an aircraft whose tail fins can be moved from vertical to leaning, F15 to F22, in flight?
I’ve always liked the Hunter but I have heard people say it really wasn’t very good, is this true?
Duxford Tuesday 27th January:
It was nice and noisy for a while this afternoon:
Is there much difference between the British Harvard and the US Harvard?
What’s the youtube link above ‘Like a young Burt Reynolds’ got to do with the HAC Hurricane?
Brian
That scene is talking about how good looking he finds Max and Paddy, what I think of the Hurricane!
Duxford Wednesday 14th January:
Another bright and windy day, but a few residents were outside for a change. Swapping places between ARCo and Hangar 3 were the HAC Spitfire and Hurricane:
Surely they’d be able to get them fitted so they look contemporary?
Like Mildenhall:D

Exactly! :applause:
